  1. Hi guys, Thought I'd share some pictures and info about this watch with non-matching case/dial, just completed. Temporarily on rep rivet bracelet. Specs: Phong 6538 case, aged and reshaped with added bevels 1030 movement, serviced Rolex 6536 dial Rolex MkI / kissing 4 insert Tropic 17 superdome crystal Rolex 8mm crown + tube Huge thanks to dbane883 for helping me out in the beginning with advice and blood, sweat and tears later on with that case work. Same goes for misiekped who somehow finally turned a rusty old pile of trash into a excellent running and nice 1030 movement. Thanks for looking!

  2. Lovely! Very impressed and envious by the fact that you now virtually can do any gilt dial you want - just like that. Thanks for sharing!

  3. Congrats. If I recall, the case started out as a badly over-polished phong case (purchased m2m) that was restored as well as it could be given the circumstances. Thats the thing about Phong.. its sometimes a crap-shoot about what kind of case you get from him. Glad it all came together. it's been a long road for you.

  7. Tudor "fantasy" Chrono. 7750-powered DW 6239 with a gen Tidor Chronautic dial; love the extra thing 6238 style bezel but still need to shave down the crown dude to even it out a little

  8. Huge fan of Miyota movements. The one in my Maranez (boutique brand from Thailand) keeps damn near perfect time, and sits in the winder next to a five-figure Zenith.

  9. These are the new Dutch tulips. As always before a financial crash luxury items tend to either be overconsumed or rise absurdly in price. A watch... An investment? Please... When (not if) everything starts crashing. I'll be putting on a Seiko to tell the time. Not a fragile museum piece.

  11. New gear train, jewels, modifying the module plate to have a seat for the new gear...at least that's what I understood Domi said I don't have to worry about the movement anymore. It only stops when there's no more power reserve (due to not wearing/winding). Sent from my wooden drums via Tupperware

  12. Welcome to the forum. Generally this forum doesn't get involved with QC pictures, it's between you and the seller. Puretime is a Trusted Dealer, I have used them and found them good. Look at the pictures carefully, expand them on your computer. Do the numbers line up? Are the batons straight (this watch doesn't have applied batons so no issue there)? Search the net for images of genuine watches. If you are happy confirm the QC, wait for delivery and enjoy your watch.

  13. trying to buy a gen 16800 MK2 The seller insists that its fully gen but the insert looks too thin to me. Can anyone help out to see if it's a gen mk2 insert? sent from BOOOOOOOOOM

  14. Insert looks fine to me- and I would think it's period correct This is my 16800 for comparison. Pearls age at different rates and so does the lume on the dial and hands for that matter.
