  2. Finally after having this movement sit for a while it’s finally together ! its a custom Vietnam case Gen 1520 serviced and fresh movement reprinted Dial on a singer plate combo of two different sets of hands that in not 100% happy with yet. The second hand is a little short phong 5517 insert and maybe a HR 5517 insert, I’m still deciding. Both are in the photos below. (The HR has the pip missing, I took it out) Gen 702 tube and atheya 702 crown (new old stock Gen 702 on the way) Gen T19 DOD olive NATO strap just need to to do some softening and aging now, I got too excited and wanted to assemble it ?

  4. Is a nice build. What annoys me is, there seems to be no good inserts for the mil sub. No one seems to be able to get the font right. Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk

  6. I bet @Nanuqwas young and good looking back then, @Mike on a bike was probably still in short trousers and @Legend was not even a twinkle in his fathers eye!

  10. Wow, a blast from the past. There are quite a few names there that have stood the test of time and are still around today. And, the old format is very ‘noughties’.

  11. Congrats! Looking good! The Phong insert is the better of the two ( I tried both too). However I would swap the pearl for one from Athaya, btw. these do need trimming to remove some surplus plastic. Previously I would have said Yuki as the finish is much better, but their latest batch of pearls aren’t as accurate as they used to be, being slightly smaller and flatter. Here’s mine with an older Yuki pearl, they were great, Athaya is close though.

  17. I would go with an ETA movement but the watches I want only have Asia Clone SA3135 movement I think one has a 2836 movement I think it is I would want a watch to last me atleast 6 months but I really doubt that I've seen loads of reviews saying that there watch has stopped after a month, 3 week, a week and couple of days it gets shorter and shorter that's what I'm worried about buy a watch for £300 then have to add another £100 getting it serviced and fixed then something else brakes it just makes this hobby pretty boring and pointless.
