  1. Also, I find very little gets delivered Mondays or Fridays due to their use of part time and contract carriers.
  2. Canada Post's updates can be as slow as their delivery. They are slow, but reliable. Don't worry, it will get there if it hasn't already.
  3. FWIW, I have had a couple of watches, a gen Omega included, that have had to have the movement clamps loosened slightly. The stem then slid in perfectly. It can't hurt to try before the disassembly.
  4. I would be very surprised if the subdial spacing is anywhere close. The dial pictured fits a cal861. Do you own it? If so, and you choose not to use it, PM me. I have a 1969 Speedmaster MKII that I would love to retrofit with the racing dial.
  5. Get a gen one from an AD. They sell them and they aren't expensive.
  6. Does anyone know if there are any differences in the case or case back from V1 to V3?
  7. It tends to be much cheaper to replace the crystal than the bezel. Protecting the bezel with a protruding crystal does make some sense.
  8. My wife predicts the future quite well. She predicts divorce if the mailman brings one more watch-related delivery this week.
  9. Yes, those 2 fine members came through and sent me some great parts. If mwee is following this thread, the crystal arrived this morning! Thanks! The old Aquatimer has the internal thread tube, but with the wrong crown. The apparent misalignment of the tube on the Top Gun (or lack of a tube?) indicated above bears further investigation.
  10. Did anyone else notice that this rep has the correct internal thread crown & tube? I wonder if a set might be obtained in order to retrofit a 3717?

My original post (and opinion) still stands. This dial is definitely rep.
  13. No. Almost certainly what you will receive is a poor quality fake, if you receive anything at all. The genuine watch you have pictures of would sell for at least $2000 on the used market.
  14. On the back side of the fixed links, you will find a couple of depressions in the ceramic. These are actually holes filled with a white resin. These plugs of resin hold into a slot in the pins. Remove the resin and the links can be taken apart. A normal drill bit will remove most of it, then use an X-Acto knife to remove the last bits.
  15. Expensive for sure! But fun and worthwhile. Pics please when you get them. Next you will want a new strap for that Railmaster. It never ends. TZ is good for finding some very nice straps that will blow away most OEM ones. Search around here too. I'm sure you will find months worth of educational reading to further your hobby. I'm glad you found this place first and didn't come to us with a horror story from a scam website. Welcome

Merlin is right. Every gen dial I have seen in person and in pics has had the numbers somewhat bolder than the above IWC website photo, which has probably been heavily Photoshopped. The rep dial is actually pretty much bang on.

I believe V2 and V3 are centered (with V1 being the one the OP got from the 'bay), but both have an overly large font, giving the letters a crowded look, as the rep squeezes the word into the same horizontal space as the gen. The gen letters are shorter and more spaced. A side-by-side comparison to a gen will allow you to spot it instantly.

Yup. Thanks for the picture, tomhorn. It makes my explanation a bit clearer. If you were to draw a circle around the outside of all the minute markers, right on the outside edge of them, the triangle marker at 12 would touch this line. On the rep, it is unfortunately made smaller so it lines up with the 2 dots instead, which are correctly placed inside this circle. All rep versions have this triangle marker wrong. Simply shifting it up wouldn't work, as the base of it is in the correct location. It's just too small. Notice at the bottom, the letters in "SWISS" appear to have some breathing room between them. With a few gen dials recently changing hands on here (including one into my hands), I hope it wasn't someone from here who sold their old one as gen on the 'bay.

Unfortunately, your dial is not gen. There are 2 immediate tells; 1) the triangle marker at 12 on the gen is larger and the upper vertex extends past the line across the 2 dots next to it. All the reps have a realtively smaller triangle that lines up with the 2 dots at the top. The gen marker appears much closer to the dots because of the larger triangle. i.e. the space between the marker and the dots is noticeably less than the distance between the dots and the marks outside them. 2) at the bottom, "SWISS" in "SWISS MADE" on the gen is centered below the 2 marks above it. The gen also uses smaller font than the reps, so the letters in "SWISS" have more space between them.
  20. Price-wise, I would forgo the warranty for the serious $ savings to be had right now by buying a used one. Even if there are issues with it later, you would be able to afford to have someone like The Zigmeister do a complete service and you would still be ahead. Try the sales corner on Timezone and be patient. One or more will come up.
  21. There are only 3 spots left. You had better buy another box.
  22. Why not simply skeletonize the plate in the appropriate places?
  23. So, unless critical information is missing, I would say that the guy in Paris is ripping people off, probably doubly so with his Swiss products.
