I placed a sizable order with them last April ('06). Last I spoke to them, they were waiting for 2 of the items to arrive. I repeatedly told them to ship partial. Nothing ever arrived and they never contacted me.

bluespower: love your rig!!!! t'heck with the watches!

It's probably less of a problem on a crystal than it is on lunch meat.
-
The gens are not flat. There is a slight curvature to them. As well, the AR coating is almost not noticable. This is the crystal used on my gen SMP Chrono as well, and its AR is barely noticable - most unlike the genuine PO.
-
Measuring a spare Omega crystal (062 SA 3008) I happen to have shows it to be 30.52mm diameter and 2.57mm thick.
-
The gen does have a light AR on the inside of the crystal. I have one. It is hard to notice under some conditions. I also have a gen crystal for a black SMP, and it is quite hard to tell that it is indeed coated on the inside.

No such thing from Canada to an overseas address. Registered is an option for lettermail only. If you want to send a parcel overseas from Canada with any tracking at all, you are forced to use a courier type service, at extortionate rates. I went to send a simple bubble envelope to Ireland the other day. It weighed 41g, and I was quoted anywhere from $60 to $100 for any service with tracking. The cheapest was the post office. The most expensive was Fedex.

Screwed Up Trying To Fix A Bond Gmt Bezel - Argghh...
krustybrand replied to UConn Ron's topic in The Omega Area
You mean that tiny cylindrical piece that is stepped even smaller on both ends and an itty bitty spring that both sit in a hole? I have a spare. PM me your details and I'll send it to you. Use a bit of silicone grease to 'stick' them together and in the hole so they don't come out when you try to put it all back together. The spring goes into the hole first, then the pin. Then snap the bezel back on flat. -
I have a few spares. Assuming you have the 4th gen 42.5mm version, PM me and I'll pop one in the mail to you no charge.

I'm still waiting, but not holding my breath, for them to ship an order of parts I made last April. They have not responded in any manner since my last phone enquiry last fall. I can get all the parts locally, and will.

Buying Gen Dial & Hands For Smp At Cousins
krustybrand replied to scoobs1971's topic in The Omega Area
I have a new gen dial and a set of hands available for the SMP. When I get back home tomorrow night I will confirm the dial is the auto version, but I'm quite certain it is. In any case, I have the package with the part number on it. These parts were to be for a project I was planning, but have been sitting around for a year now gathering dust in a drawer (figuratively speaking). PM me if interested. -
Yes, a genuine 20mm bracelet will fit, but just buy a clasp. It is the only significant difference to the gen. Ofrei has the clasp. Make sure you don't get the 22mm version for the larger PO. I accidentally bought a (used) gen clasp for the 45m PO that I can't use now.

Need Help Adding The Rubber Strap To The Omega 42.5mm Po
krustybrand replied to Double Tap's topic in The Omega Area
Alternatively, the genuine rubber strap fits perfectly on the 4th gen, but is a bit pricy. You might find one on TZ. -
I think it's low self esteem and poor sense of value.

Sorry I can't help with replacements, but I have a question for you regarding this rep. Is the bracelet essentially infinitely adjustable like Omegas? i.e. with a removable pin in every link. My wife has a very small wrist and I am worried that I might not be able to adjust it small enough for her.

Count me in for one as well!

Ummm Guys Eddie Has A 1:1 Ingenieur Chronograph
krustybrand replied to CY0811's topic in General Discussion
So much for the snow tires or brake maintenance on my wife's car... -
Hmm, I have a fully serviced (by The Zigmeister) 7750 from a GST chrono that is not going back into its case (case issues). Maybe one of these would be a good place for it with its good datewheel.

I'm still waiting for a group of parts I ordered from Ofrei in April. At this point, I don't care. I can get them locally if I want. They said they would contact me when the order is ready to ship. I have contacted them on more than one occasion to tell them that partial shipping is fine. Still no contact and no parts.

Did you remove BOTH screw on one link end plate? You can then remove that link end plate. The pins are both fixed to the opposite end plate. You can only disassemble with both screws removed from a link. Reassembly is actually quite easy, so don't worry if you end up with a pile of pieces. They only go back one way.

I put a drop of glue into the hole in the dial only and put the hand into it with a piece of watch tissue under the hand itself. The hypo cement hardens, and the hand is held slightly proud of the dial when the tissue is removed. It looks a little better that way, and there is no chance of smearing the glue on the subdial.

Hehe. I've owned Fiat, Alfa and Maserati. They all spent far more time in the shop than any other car since, but when they ran right, words can't do the experience justice, especially the Maserati. WOW!

Better? It never gets better. You're doomed....

PP24 from River, or the Rolex Yachtmaster ladies. Both look fantastic.

Vintage Omegas Replicas Have To Be Made!!
krustybrand replied to marrickvilleboy's topic in The Omega Area
As far as I'm concerned, elegant watch design peaked in the 60s and 70s. Everything since has been geegaw-laden sports stuff with more design laundry hanging off them than I care for. Even the older sports watch designs seem cleaner than the modern ones. I would love to see some nice reps of vintage stuff. Until then, I continue to add the odd genuine 70s piece to my collection. I hope not too many others discover just how reasonably priced some of them are, and not too old to acquire that gawdawful "patina" that for some unknown reason increases value and in most cases is no more than careless use and a lack of maintenance. You can keep that beat up look.
