  1. Love the DW Daytonas! I don't think I will ever part with either of mine. Wear it well!
  2. 45 with the liver of a 60yr old.
  3. My 'second home' is a really small one-room affair with a door made of bars that can only be opened from the outside. Does that count?
  4. Good thing sports movies aren't flooding the theaters. Nothing beats 'Rudy'.
  5. I second Timezone as a reputable source of inexpensive gens. I think I have bought 5 so far of varying brands from sellers with high post numbers there and had no problems at all.
  6. Have you seen the new Brabus version of the Mercedes C-class yet? Not the most attractive car but holy crap! http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2007/09/brabu...mercedes-c.html
  7. Could this signal a revival of the "Girls Girls Girls" thread?
  8. I have an Oris TT1 titanium and a Chronoris. They get more wrist time than any other of my watches. Get the F1. If not, have him get in touch with me. I'll take it off his hands (seriously).
  9. Bit of trivia - Tritium is currently selling for about $14million per kilo. It's one of the byproducts produced where I work.
  10. Awesome choice. I couldn't think of a more desirable brand to start with for a collection of gens. There are some superb deals to be had on TZ for tier 2 brands (Oris, etc.) - so much so that I haven't bought a rep in a long time. Just gens.
  11. Generally, you can subtract one pitch from the major diameter, so 2.5-.25= 2.25mm drill. 0.25mm pitch is the size for Daytona pushers (OEM). Most tap drill charts only list the coarse metric threads and therefore show 2.05mm (2.5-0.45=2.05). Try everything in a piece of scrap before committing to your watch case, just to be sure you get the correct thread depth.
  12. Who do you deal with here in T.O?
  13. I got an Oris Chronoris a little while ago, and the orange accents on it are really starting to grow on me. This one, however, just blows me away. Too bad I bought a house this week.
  14. On my gen, the outer ring on the chrono pushers is cosmetic. Actually, Omega makes a tool that engages on this outer ring to unscrew the pusher from the case. The Omega pushers are waterproof as they are.
  15. Here's my drunk, middle-aged ass, and my sleepy schnoodle.
  16. Most of the weekend: Evening wear:
  17. I haven't even seen the new one in stores yet, but I will be haunting an AD later today. BTW, I think it's a common misconception that the old gen has no AR. It most certainly does, although only on the inside surface. The replacement crystal is the same as the 2254 and the regular SMP, (I have a spare here). In bright light, with a significant UV component, it is quite blue. The new one has double sided AR like the PO. Late edit: Just checked with the AD. The new version is $4100CDN. That price seems to have been set when our dollar was much, much lower. With it trading almost at par with the $US, you would think our retail prices of big-ticket goods would come down. Nope.
  18. $1500 is a little bit much. I paid much less for mine, but that was from our Thomasng. The serial number appears to be on the card, so I would expect it is intact on the watch too. The slightly pinkinsh tint to the hands indicates this is indeed a gen that is approx 4 years or so old (the coloring is exact in the pictures). Yes, the red dot on the back is an Omega thing to indicate the back hasn't been opened. Offer a bit less, and see what he says. If no go, the $1500 is OK assuming the serial # is in fact there. It's a terrific watch, and I agree that the rep is superb, but if you wish to start collecting gens, this would be a fine place to start.
  19. I remember Yoshima pipes. They were great! I had one back around 1980 on my bike. It was really a radical departure from what was available at the time. I got pulled over frequently because the cops figured I had cut the stock pipe really short. The Yoshima pipe barely cleared my front footpeg and sounded really sweet.
  20. I have 4 Omegas, a Breitling and a Tissot, but I still wear my DW Daytonas more than anything.
  21. I'm afraid he doesn't have a website to buy from. You have to find his (daily) postings in the Timezone sales corner and contact him directly. He will then send you some attachments by email and you can go from there. Look in the gallery at speedmaster-mission.net (I won't link directly) and you can see the brown alligator on the Speedy. I got both brown and black exactly like that. They are 20/16mm (16mm buckle).
  22. I just got a pair of alligator straps with the double ridges (sport design) and curved ends to hug the case for my gen Speedmaster from Jurgen in Germany. They are far and away the nicest straps I have ever seen, and even have 'Omega' on the back side. I believe he used to supply Omega with their straps. In any case, he's highly recommended and can be found easily through the Timezone sales corner. -just an alternative to Ofrei and if you are not in the US, you can get alligator (Ofrei won't ship it out of the US)
  23. A nice new 7750 would work just dandy. -On its way to you.
  24. You need to take both screws for a given end plate out. Then the end plate will lift off, and the pins, which are actually part of the opposite end plate, will come out in the opposite direction just by pulling off the opposite end plate. It becomes self-evident once you take 2 screws and the plate off.
