  1. Interesting. I can't find a reference of any type to that case number in the current Omega Red Book. Your movement serial number dates the watch to 1979 if I'm not mistaken.
  2. Is this movement the pink rotor one found in Rolex (and other) reps? If so, I have a spare movement with a black date wheel. If it is the same one, I would be willing to swap for a white wheel.
  3. 34mm is right on. I had it opened up today to get the numbers out. It's immaculate - no hint of corrosion at the case/back junction as you find on a lot of old watches. It's a Caliber 1010 and the movement serial number dates it from 1979. Case is 166.0202
  4. "Missing Watch Blues" by Nais
  5. No markings whatsoever. I'll have to pop the caseback off to find out more about it. All I know is that the movement is 28,800bpm and it's running 1-2sec per day fast depending on position. In other words, it's running perfectly.
  6. Picked this up cheap on a whim yesterday. The grey dial is gorgeous! The date misalignment is due to the date changing over about 2 hours (not instant) starting about when the pic was taken. Sorry for the poor photo. I just plunked it onto my Omega Red Book and snapped a quick one. The red on the crystal is a reflection from something or other (lens flare). It was a private deal from a long time salesman at my favorite dealer. Favorite because whan I asked once for a Breitling buckle, all they had was a used one, so they gave it to me free. When I went in later looking for 2 more of a different size, they removed them from in stock straps and sold them to me for the correct Breitling price ($25 each).
  7. I've been waiting for a parts order from Ofrei since April, and the PO dial is one of the things holding it up.
  8. No you wouldn't. Ever hear the term 'atonal dissonance'? I excel at it.
  9. The gen used to be screw-on. If you look at earlier generations, you will more than likely see the bezel holes in all kinds of orientations. The curent gen, however, is a bayonet type system, and the bezel is placed on and turned about 10 degrees to lock, and the holes are always the same, with the top one right at 12. As always from this forum, copy and paste this into your browser rather than going directly: http://www.frizzellweb.com/larry/ingenieur...eur4.html#Jumbo
  10. Just like the cool room Gene Hackman had set up in 'Enemy of the State".
  11. I make some horrible noise with a beautiful mahogany Parker Nightfly M and a very loud (ask my neighbors) Marshall 50W amp. I also have a gorgeous homebuilt quilted maple top, 5 string fretless bass with tapewound strings and optical pickups on which I make even more horrible noise (I'm a really bad musician, but I have fun).
  12. The smaller ladies Pasha is nice. I got my wife a pink one from Puretime. Aside from the problems I had shortening the band for her very small wrist, it's easily her favorite watch and looks properly proportioned on her. BTW, her wedding ring is a size 3 1/2, so with her small stature, a bulky watch is out. The GMT hand even works fine. Picture from Puretime -(this is the exact one my wife has)
  13. Cubans are quite legal and easy to get here in the great white north. That being said, I've always felt that cigars look and smell like you are sucking on a burning turd.
  14. I sent a small package of used auto parts, mostly electrical switches, to the US several weeks ago. The tracking shows it as in US customs for quite some time now. Perhaps they really are backed up.
  15. Thanks for the pics. They've answered all the concerns I may have had when I first saw EL's pics. Now I know I will need one. Fortunately, I've just been given a work assignment with an unlimited overtime budget for the next 6 months.
  16. Again.
  17. Inge is a short, commonly used (with reference to the IWC in question) contraction of Ingenieur. It's a term of endearment, if you will.
  18. I was beginnining to worry, but then my wife presented mine to me yesterday for my birthday. I was at work when it arrived and she held it for a week.
  19. The one big flaw with Inge reps so far has been the height of the bezel. The gen is quite high and the reps have been very thin. EL's pictures don't clearly show the relative thicknesses of the back, case and bezel. Otherwise, it looks very good. There is a nice crisp angle on the case at the band transition.
  20. It's the "M", with the natural mahogany body.
  21. I put down my last guitar about 16 years ago, but have been itching to take it up again as a supplement to my bass. She let me spring yesterday for a brand new Parker Nightfly M. No new reps for me for a while, though. It sounds so sweet!
  22. Yep. I received confirmation of payment on the 30th of Aug. No word since.
  23. I actually had a somewhat positive dealing with HWILG a couple of months ago. He offered up acouple of DW bezels here and I immediately sent him an agreed upon amount for the SS one. A couple of days later, it became apparent that I was getting a good deal, as at least one more came up for sale at a much higher price. The days went by, and I worried a bit, but I am very patient. After 3 weeks it appeared and I got an apologetic email when I emailed him that it had arrived. The only thing that floored me was that it had been sent with no wrapping or protection, just in a letter envelope. What really floored me was that it arrived at all having been sent like that. I have in the past received empty cardboard envelopes with neat holes where a Rolex crown had been punched through by the machinery and so am very careful whenever I send something out for someone else. I did get my bezel though. Sad to see if he is the perpetrator of a scam here.
  24. Can the Ingenieur be next?
