  1. I don't know about you, but if I was going to be stealing gen parts, I would think it would be a whole lot more profitable to be selling them outright then to some rep watch maker. Could you just see the "mule" walking in and out of Brietling with a stack of dials up his a**!
  2. You really think there are Thousands of imperfect parts are smuggled out at midnight? Thousands of parts ALL with the same imperfections for the most part? Perfection? There is no "Perfection"! If you think a case is machined to perfection you have not compared it to a gen. The lugs for example are wrong in shape. This does not come from a poor QC on a rejected part. Do you know what tooling costs are in China? I do! About 50%-75% less then the costs of tooling in the States. Knowing tooling like I know, and machining like I know as well as manufacturing
  3. Going for that "Rookie of the year" again aren't you with questions like that?
  4. One of my allen keys. Don't recall if it was english or metric...was over a year ago. Some of my keys are also filled down for those "special" applications.
  5. For my Grahams, I did a little more robust fix then using dental floss. I removed the lever and put 3 small dabs of JB Weld on the inside of the lower portion of the lever and let dry. Once dried I filled the JB weld down to the proper thickness to get a perfect fit! Reinstalled the lever and never looked back. Did this on a couple of my Pams that had the dental floss treatment. Little time consuming but I feel it works much better! Please post pics of your Scarab as I am about to order one I think!
  6. Not a big IWC fan, but a huge blue dial nut...This is really beautiful!
  7. Yep Brown exists, really only goes well with the Brown Dial/Bezel SOH...Now Red...oh that exists too if you were lucky enough to get one before Breitling pulled the color.
  8. Pre 2008 and prior was the small wing. 2009 Breitling introduced the Big Wing. I should say 2009 models as you could buy these at the end of 2008.
  9. Have you seen how the Gen meshes are sizable? You have removable mesh links. That is exactly why there is not a rep out of it yet. The manufacturing that it takes to do this is very involved.
  10. Would have a hard time believing this due to the popularity of this model. But who knows as they tool up for X number of parts, and once those parts are exhausted, they seem to never run more for additional production.
  11. I have found every rep Pro II to be very uncomfortable to wear. Simply becuase the clasp has a lot less curvature to it. It is these little things that make the Gens so much better then the reps...of course a price tag goes along with it.
  12. Franck Muller...They don't have one watch that is at all attractive...even though his new Aeternitas piece is a work of watchmaking art with 23 complications.
  13. The Standard SOH with Green bezel is a Limited Edition (1000 pieces) that was released in the far East only. Breitling was not going to release them in Europe or the States. Instead we got the green Bezel SOH Chrono that is not a LE. Saw one at my AD and it was nice. Don;t think I would buy one, but was nice none the less.
  14. Who made that great looking strap?
  15. The modification to move the 12 sub dial to 3, has no impact on the movement. The modification only "runs" when the chrono is used. Gen companies do this all the time
  16. Oh man...I hurt my brain think about this one. You forgot the "All of them" selection. Love the SOHC, especially my LE, the classic lines and mesh bracelet live up to the Heritage name. But the SA has been my fav. Ling for some time due to its size and feel...unfortunatly it is facing some fierce competition since laying eyes on the new Bentley GMT Carbon! Can't hate the BCE either as it is just pure class!...Damn it! Where is the "All of them Button" BT, I can't decide.
  17. Okay let me refine my statement as to not encompass "All Tools" as that was not my intentions. I was only referring to this Topic discussion of "Taps" and what you need to do a proper tap
  18. Excellent as I have a gen movement I am upgrading my 172 to.
  19. I am in for 1 set. Now who wants to invest in some Tantalium and start making real cases?
  20. Taps specificly marketed for Rolex on jewlers sites are way over priced. Hi-Carbon Taps are junk as is ANYTHING tool related coming out of China. If you want to break your tap off in the case, then I suggest using Chinese taps. You are fine with a Hi-Speed Steel tap. 21. Could be from internal moisture. Just had a Tag in the shop that had a real bad hazed crystal on the underside. Get it to a watchsmith, they should be able to clean it up cheaply.
  22. We really need a search function around here.
  23. Great watch! Wish they were still Ti! Yellow is a darker case like Ti would just look sick!
  24. Skylands or Chrono Avengers R? I am still so confused.
  25. Thats a new one! We can get that taken care of. PM replied!
