  1. Mechanical Engineering Manager in automotive, Mad Scientist (if you ask HackR), Metal Model Maker/Machinist, Skydiving Instructor and do a lot of Engineering consulting on the side.
  2. Agree 100%, the Ti CA is so rugged looking. Love the weight of the SS, but the Ti is just so tough looking! Hmmmm....maybe we need a Tantalium piece! Polishing a rep SA is a great idea! Just getting the brush direction to all be the same would be difficult. Unless going with a light brushing. I wonder if Breitling would do this on a Gen is someone wanted it.
  3. Had one back in the day wen I was young, dumb and a watch was nothing speacial to me. You can still find the Sixty-Nines around for $3-$4K from time to time, which if I recall was about what it cost me new in '03-'04. Now all my Breiltings stay put in my collection epecailly the LE. It spent more time with Breitling then on my wrist...think this is why they never went far with this movement. I would have liked to see Breilting stay with the CA. It offered a nice break from their high polished SS look across their model range. If they did a brushed SA, I would be all over it!
  4. Outside of the CA SixtyNine, which was SS and completly different from a CA. Case looked the same but had a displayback. I used to have one. Keep having issues with the movement as it was part quartz and part mechanical. Traded it for a IWC.
  5. I have had this issue with a crown that had a busted spring in it too. Replaced the crown and was good to go.
  6. 172 thanks to R on a BB Leather strap.
  7. Unfortunatly it will. Dealers are not shipping out until the 24th is what I was told.
  8. Hockey, Snowboarding and Curling. Yes I said curling!
  9. Thanks for this! Great read for a Thursday morning. I think the big thing to take away from this is that ETA movements are still going to be available as well as their parts. Really the only thing that is changing, is ETA is stopping the sale of their movement blanks. If companies like Breitling, Tag and such wanted to purchase 100% complete movements from ETA, they still can.
  10. Re-luming. When done by someone like Z with years or experience.
  11. Rob had to edumacate me about there being a rep SS CA. He keep saying Stainless CA case and I keep going huh? Breitling never did this? The CA was a Ti model. When they went to SS it became the Skyland..... Many sleepless nights over this one.
  12. +1...I could never keep all the differences in the rep versions straight in my head between Ver. 1, Ver.2, Ver.4, or Ver.2,381,400. When R asked me to fit the Gen dial he quoted Andreww "as being able to fit the Gen CA dial in the case Version he had". I just thought they all fit or I would make it fit (insert bigger hammer) I have dedicated my knowledge to the gens (past and present) as Breitling is my fav. watch brand, so it is all up to Andreww to carry us!
  13. That is beautiful Nanuq! Where did you find it? Have you had the back off? Wonder if the movement is from Wakmann, the Valjoux 72...I want to say "C" for the Calendar complication. Would love to see more pics of this.
  14. Feeling the love man! Please let us know easy you can get the case back off after I Loctite her down....Oh I am not talking the blue stuff either.
  15. Ummm....I think I mad a mistake....That was mounting this on my Pro Diver and teasing R with a wrist shot...just teasing myself now because it is not mine.... Calling first dibs with this beauty got on the FS block!
  16. Very nice. Really like the White Baton Dial! I want one!
  17. I think Hublot needs to can their entire marketing department. Love thier piece, but it seem like every week they are attaching someones name too their pieces...like a billboard!
  18. Not just talking about the companies in the Swatch group as there are many more our there that use ETA movements at COSC spec. I agree, Breitling does not make their own balance springs as only a hand full of companies make their own. However most of the components that are attached to the ETA ebauches are built in-house by Breitling. This started back when Breilting was having Kelex finish & mod. their movements. Kelex is now part of Breitling and no longer exists. This infrastructure is what also allowed them to Develope the B01 in the manner they did.
  19. Wow very nice! Do you know what they can do for? I had a 15 drawer one that I sold for over $1500 7 years ago! Excellent find!
  20. Nice! Wonder why they don't have it under the model versions and only under the configurator? Have not seen that until now. Really like the blue bezel on silver dial.
  21. But it is not a double second hand. It is a 10 minute countdown timer for yachting. Have not see this funtion. Not saying they are not out there, just who has them? Also, begs the question, why has a Seawolf Chrono not been repped yet if the movement is available? Again, could be out there, but have not seen it. The PD movement used a ETA 251.262 movement in the ones I have seen from some of our dealers and not the ETA 251.232 that makes the Breilting 73 w/ 10 minute countdown.
