This is just in from Josh...looks pretty good to me...I was going to change the case to a N v3,,,,but the case tube doesn't seem so bad...plus,,,the crown guard has the exact same feel and tension as my gen 112 so I think I'm going to leave it as is....last two pics are worst angle for case tube for 390 rep and 112 gen

there is an old saying ,,,when we make plans,,God laughes..I thinkt the same goes for watches...when we think we have found our definitive collection...the cosmos finds this comical....I have two gen pams and really told myself...you should keep these a whiile...but I'm already thinking of something else... I also said I would never had another rep...but have one on the way..

looks pretty bad,,,imo...also,,,not an easy fix...even if you get the back off...would be hard to match color and get it in the groves right....might as well just say pam rep on the back......also,,,the second pic looks like pretty good scratch on mov...or is that on the crystal...

yes....IME any huge difference in timing seems always a hair spring deal..If you can open the back.....a good shot of air, don't breath on it, will work too....

that would be interesting....how would the treads and case tube hold up if they were ceramic?

I was also curious about crown,,,,is it also ceramic? or is that just a coating...

if you check out woton craft's page,,,actually some pretty cool choices...I "let" my wife pick one out...guess that is her choice...not sure how accurate it is,,,but nice to think that way....

like a lot of watch things....you might hate it or love it...totally made by hand...Silver,,,takes a few days just to make one....wotancraft...he makes some pretty nice straps too.....

just got this from my wife for our 15 year anniversay....I have to say I never thought a buckle could distract me so much from my watch.....but,,,,feels more even...like both sides of the wrist have something...a little on the bling side but still think its cool....(strap doesn't deserve to be here...but just tossed it on something)

have to say it looks perfect then,,,

does look good...holding up my gen 112 next to it,,,does look like the tip of the widget (not sure what the thing that closes is called) is a bit on the thick side...mine comes to a sharper,,more pointy end...other that that...looks really good... btw,,,doesn't surprise me a bit about the gen crowd being into reps....the real big secret is that we are all just the same bunch of freaks.....

that's an interesting way to put it.....sort of an updated version of panerai.....coming out first with a bronze,,,and then panerai to follow...that certainly fits...

I was amazed to see how fast the patina happened....perhaps I just sweat more than others...but it was days and I could see a difference...all I could think about was that old s king movie where that green stuff came from outter space and took over everything...

I actually just had this one...picked it up for a song and left it for the same song (just didn't seem right to make money off it)...perhaps my fav of all but I read that the patina caused by copper (and bronze) is actually toxic..and that was about that...of course,,,I know this must be reasonably safe considering all the sales of bronze lately but just couldn't enjoy it...so off it went...

the militare (the one with the winding crown at 6) is such a wonderful pain,,,,its really hard to set the time...and I can't imagine how one would deal with the mechanical version,,,but there is something to this...that makes it more interesting imo... all of mine are gens...sold off the entire collection to buy these,,,but at least now seems worth it...

If you have ever heard that the cases are special,,,,they are...I used to be a movement person and I still am,,,but these cases has a quality that one has to check out.......

its funny, I was totally the same...rolex was the last thing I was interested in,,,,then suddenly I had to have a gen.....I guess you have to do it....only to experience yourself it isn't a big deal,,,like so much in life...but the words here will only do so much compared to an experience on the wrist....if you think it is worth the money then you win,,,if you don't you can sell it for the same price and again win,,,so if you get it at a good price,,,a win, win.

I did that...sold off many pieces to pick up a 14060m. And it was nice for a few days but kept looking down and thinking,,,that's it? But I got it at a good used price so had it a few months sold it and didn't take a loss, which in itself is unusual.

Nice,,,trade ya....I like your crystal and polished case,,,but I like my crown better...

I don't think I've ever been disappointed with a doxa,,,and the vintage are the best. Why why why did I sell my other orange dial 300? Sure lum is original but rest of dial seems too new and doesn't match lum? My first vintage with a screw down crown, my other was a synchron so no screw down. It's amazing, 40 years and still nice and smooth. IWW did a repaint on the dial which I would have passed on. Just noticed the date is off a bit....still friday, a vintage doxa and some red wine....
