  1. Bazz, Nice Doxa,,,I have one myself.....not sure if I like it better than the 750t but does have a vintage thing going on which is cool. Here is a hit from the 80s I'll have on this weekend...the eta 2892,,,,20 years,,,not touched and still keeping time withing 5 second a day....
  2. and I thought this was going to be about pilot watches........
  3. I don't think there are reps of these,,,but just thought I would see about any opinions on the gen as I'm sort of taken with these lately. thanks...
  4. Least comfortable large watch 45 PO close runner up stowa prodiver with bracelet (wieghts in about 1 pound) most comfortable large watch Doxa 750 most comfortable overall any 41mm seamaster and the 42mm PO just behind it a bit. I'm guessing the ti seamaster would be the ulta comfortable watch....still not sure why I don't own it.
  5. That is a nice price on one that's been on my list for at least a year...
  6. lol.... here it is on the orange.....seems to hold its own up agains't the PO????
  7. I recently traded this for a Stowa Prodiver ( a great dive watch but just too thick for me ). I think I got a pretty good trade as these typically go for about 1200 (usd) if you can find them. Case quality is up there with the best, great vintage lum and the movement (2892) is keeping perfect time,,,,and I mean perfect, not so much as gaining or losing a few seconds over three days. Case is 44 mm but thin so I like it (some people have commented it is too thin for a diver ). The only factor that made me want to pass on this was the bezel lock. On the one hand, it is as close as you can get to a ploprof in looks and function. And it works great, the bezel goes no where till you push it in, however, it is harder to move the bezel and I can't do it with one hand, I need to take the watch off, press it in and then move the bezel which I don't personally care for. Lugs have a great curved design and fits the wrist nicely, in fact, the curved lugs give you a few extra mm on straps. I still can't decide if I will keep it or pass it on, but thought I would share some pics and comments with the group. of course my 11month old son caught me taking pics and had to find out what was going on. The pic makes his hands look giganic but they are normal (lol)
  8. you really find some gems,,,,this is so tempting if I only had some money Is it just me or does that movement remind anyone of the movement found in a vintage tudor sub? I did just do a trade for a vintage squale,,,,should be here tomorrow....the one with similar to the ploprof with an orange bezel lock.
  9. Nice design,,,these turned out well
  10. I'm not a ring person (besides the wife's) but this is pretty cool,,,,
  11. Well,,,just ran this by my wife (a clinical psychologist) and she gave me the typical "things are never simple and you need to see a therapist to get any meaningful answers", but she did also say something like "did you ever get lost as a child?",,,which could be interesting. My take is that all fear,,,and I seriously mean all fear and anxiety stems from the egos fear that it will one day disappear into the nothingness it once was (sorry if that sounds dramatic). All peace comes from losing one's identification with the ego but this is difficult because in the west we are all taught that our ego (our personal individual self, history, soical status, etc) is all there is but that is just MHO..... and btw,,,,from your statement above,,,doesn't seem too serious since most psychologists would draw a line between issues that doen't interfear with your life and those that do.....at least your doesn't.
  12. I don't think this would make a good daily watch,,,,actually I would be more into the "baby ploprof" which, if I run into some cash will be my next watch.
  13. ocean 7 watches came out with a homage recently....going for 1200 (usd) and one already came up used for about 1,000.
  14. Nice,,,,,I really like this............
  15. I've read some bad reviews about jomashop,,,,things like selling used watches with bad scatches, great communication till you have a problem then can't find anyone. I'm not saying I believe it 100% but I would look up some reviews first.
  16. wow,,,,sorry about that,,,I'll add another 10% for your patience.....
  17. payment made............I wasn't sure if I made two already or not....my memory is worthless these days.
  18. someone has to have some advice on how to oil a bezel????? after playing around with this,,,I think how tight the bezel is, is more a function of the metal ring that has the small cut outs that are turned upward. The degree they are bent up will influence how tight the bezel is. I just bent them down a bit and got a much smoother bezel.....
  19. A friend has one so I've seen it many times in person...It's a great watch.....I'm not sure 4,000 (usd) nice but I would wear it.
  20. Nice find,,,like you said,,,so many nice dive watches out there..Longines, DROZ,,,there's a Rodania Super Compressor on TZ I've had my eye on for a while which is going for less that 600 (usd) also. lol....I just checked on tz,,,turns out it is the same seller of the Rodania,,,
  21. I have so many divers and it is just a matter of time that I will need to remove the bezel and regrease these. I know the suggestion is silicone grease but I'm curious if anyone had specific recommendations to get that super smooth feel of a Seiko? thanks
  22. I know a lot of people use a knife,,,,and this does work most of the time depending on how hard the bezel is to remove. However, I just slipped trying to remove the bezel on my gen omega seamaster and put a nice little scratch on it. I'm going to put out the cash and pick up a decent tool for this as I believe using a knife is too unpredictable. if you use a knife,,,there is a chance you might scratch the case and it could be too deep to remove. IMO.
  23. This is a great time to buy a seamaster,,bad time to sell.
  24. Yes,,,I also believe that the over sized watch fad will end soon.....I was hoping blancpain was going to hold out but they gave in and went huge as did rolex and I don't think it went well for either. I had a few 50mm + that I liked but sold only because they seemed too big. Now 37-42 feels pretty good. I would even break out my old movado but it is quartz and I don't think that will ever .....ever come back....
  25. I would keep an eye on TZ,,,,great prices right now.....no one is buying and will get better in a few weeks.
