  1. Nice example Jimster,,,,,thanks. I agree the screw down crown for the internal bezel isn't very practical but I probably will not use this for diving. Gran,,that pic on the nato is great! may have made this my next piece.......
  2. I have been into supercompressor's lately,,some of the vintage are nice but then it may need work. This has a vintage look, same case that was used in the original from the 60s but is new. I would enjoy your comments on it. also, If anyone has a vintage super compressor I would really enjoy seeing a picture or two. thanks. Here is a good pic with a story hxxp://watchluxus.com/longines-legend-diver-wins-award replace the xx
  3. Someone has to have some information on this????
  4. Just let this one go,,,,,,,,,,,, but had it on today
  5. I sent a gen Omega speedy bracelet from the US to someone in Israel and I was curious what the customs situation is. Get this,,,,I sent it from the US registered mail. It left the US on the 30 and it isn't there yet. My guess is that it is hanging out in customs for a while and this is probably normal. The guy filed a Paypal dispute because it isn't there yet! Now he wants his money back but it will probably show up in the next few days.

I'm not sure why other forums are so "uptight".....one of the reasons I still hang out here even if I don't really have too much as far as the reps go....IMO,,,,I like the Ti model...not the tubes but I like the idea of Ti and at the intro price I bet you could buy this,,,wear it for 6 months and sell it around the same price. But it isn't exactly a vintage....
  7. I might have to buy that just to brush the case back to normal........
  8. Wow,,,,where do you go from there? What is the size like? Looks flatter than a 750? I just got a 1000T and still am not sure about the size, which is supposed to be similar to the vintage 67 version but I think the case back is thicker. I still might trade it for a 750T,,,which IMO is the most comfortable watch on the wrist for the size......how does your feel on the wrist? Looks like it hurts to take it off....
  9. Happy birthday ,,, always a good time to reflect on the good things in life....
  10. The gen PO is my personal favorites,,,in fact, I have the 2254 incoming. I agree,,I was impressed with the PO reps bezel,,,nice and smooth. However, the crown broke after a few weeks and wouldn't screw down, so it was harder to appreciate the bezel.
  11. I have a difficult time getting over watches that put lables on the obvious.....why write things out? that isn't really good art IMO,,,,there was a recent Invicta that actually had the word "Date" right next to the date...sorry,,I just don't get it..
  12. I'm not sure any watch has been really replicated succesfully. Even the very best, customized Rolex will not pass the test on the gen forums, so IMO, none have been replicated yet.
  13. Thanks,,,,I'm just going with the crown and tube and will hopefully turn out a decent franken tudor,,,looks like these crowns go for around 130 (usd) and up, plus more for the tube... I wish I had more time to work on this now...figures a great project but no time to enjoy it.
  14. Looks great,,,I like your dial better than mine, yours is more clean. Too bad about the SN as I was sure the case was gen,,,,it is just too good of quality to be a rep,,,but looks like it is at least a very high quality rep. I will also replace the crown and tube but no luck so far,,,,,but should be a good project....
  15. Ok,,,here is an update with some good and bad news.....Here is the sn 737738 and on the other side it reads 7016/0. Here is some bad news. I went to screw in the crown and the tube came out. Turns out someone put in a smaller case tube and it was held in by elmers glue (lol). However, the case was set for a case tube to be screwed in which is a good sign as the cheaper cases are just pushed in. Also, the crystal was glued on with only a few drops and came off with a slight pull. I'm not being critical of the work that was done, I mean, blind watchmakers need work too. However, I'm convinced this case is a good quality case. This isn't based on experience with Tudor but just the feel of it seems very good. So, now I'm set with two options 1) do things right and source out the right sized case tube and crown (I'm open to suggestions how to do this). 2) use some epoxy and just glue the wrong size case tube in. The crystal will be an easy fix. So, with the movement and what I'm convinced is a good case this still looks to be a good piece. When I took the stem out,,,there was a very very small piece of dirt on it,,,if you look really close you might see it.
  16. I'll take some better pics tonight....interesting stuff about this case. it definately has a good feel to it,,,at least MBK quality, in fact, the first thing I thought was it felt just like my MBK cases. For those interested in where I got this, here is the address. hXXp://www.wwtshows.com replace the XX's,,, seems like he had a few but it would be interesting to see how many he had. This place was posted on the vintage rolex post a week ago here on RWG and the second I saw it I ordered it.
  17. good quess,,,I'll take a picture later,,,at least the movement is keeping great time and looks to be gen. Looks like one of my wine induced buys wasn't so bad after all...
  18. Thanks,,,,I might remove the glue and find an insert for the crystal....yes,,,has a ring that holds the bezel assembly but looks like it was glued to the case and came off when I removed the bezel. After a second look I was curious about the rotor,,,,,,I'm not even sure how I could get this off. here are some more pics
  19. Ok,,,I picked this up after a bottle of nice wine (at least I think it was pretty good). It was 275 (usd) and my take was that it was a decent deal. I think the movement may be original, it is keeping good time, doesn't hack, is a slow beat, and the winding gears don't look Asian (but who knows?). The bezel and dial and possibly case are all franken but still not bad however it looks strange the the crystal goes over the case as opposed to sitting within and I found it interesting the case o-ring was so dry it broke when I tried to remove it (yes,,,I need another one).....any comments are appreciated as I am no expert in this area. could be a $30 rep or pretty good,,,,,can't see how we can be so intoxicated we can't make good judgments but can still remember our credict card numbers.
  20. I'll go with the orsa monstrum,,,,,
  21. I saw that one too......looks decent but I always worry about a strange low price....I just picked up one for under 300 (usd) and put the pics next to each other. Looked identical exept in the pics of the one on TZ that you have, the print looks cleaner....so who knows these days.
  22. These are too good to sell.....I picked up a 5512 and a 5513 thinking I would sell the one I liked the least.....I can't do it....I'm keeping both. In fact,,,,I might takes some pics today if I have time. These almost make me like reps again.....
  23. should be interesting,,,,I just ordered it......we'll see.
  24. This was sent off for repair,,,,,but wish I had it on today....
