But are they rep Swiss nympho school girls 1:1? If not there might be fitment issues..... Doh, I was hoping on a group buy or something. Guess it is too late.

Congratulations on them coming through. Always great to read a happy ending.

Although I am not a Hublot chap, I agree it would be a good idea to have a few more brand specific sections such as Hublot and a few of the other big names not on the main list. It might promote other brands too. Always fun to browse the other sections.

After seeing the video it looks like the movement is definitely jamming up on something, either the hands hitting something on the dial at the 12-15 mark, or there is something stuck in the gears inside. Maybe a good service would sort it out, but on a new watch, this should have been tested before shipping it out to you. I think you might have to send it back and ask for a QC'd one in return.

Welcome to the club!

Great looking watch. The chronos are meant to work, so if I were you I would make sure the watch has been wound for a while (few hours on the wrist) and then try it. The chrono function needs some power reserve to work well. If this does not fix the issue then there could be a problem with the movement so you might need to send it back to Joshua for a swap.

I didn't want to do this, but feel I have no choice

Some very good questions. I think the issue is complicated. If we ask the admin of any forum to police too much then we will have little freedom to choose for ourselves. I think that Jandrew offers a great selection of reps at good prices, they seem to be playing games with the hot watches of the moment. As long as the forums allow debate on the issue of price fixing, then the members can make their own mind up once we are all informed of the overal situation. In the long run, if they are trying to price fix there will always be one dealer that can get around it, offer lower prices and steal their business. Silix is doing it already with a $100 lower price on the APROO (sec at 12) so he has the b*lls to stand up to it. To censor the debate is completely against what the forums are meant to stand for, so I am somewhat surprised to see that happen at RG. -
Very sorry to hear the news, our pets can be some of our closest and most loyal friends. It is always a great loss when they pass on.

What was your worst watch-related accident?

After opening the long awaited parcel with my new IWC Spitfire Chrono, I dropped the watch face down onto the slate floor in my kitchen. Luckily the crystal and movement were ok, but the bezel surround had been christened with some very minor scratches before I even had a chance to wear it. Doh! -
Great to see the Gen brand of all gen brands not bothering to listen to their customer, and get the order wrong whilst charging the earth and taking months to do simple work. A good enough reason to stick with reps. I had a similar issue with my gen Omega Speedmaster, or Swatch Speedmaster as it should really be known. Put me off gens straight away. Reps might not be 100% same quality but at least you can wear it rather than have it on a shelf somewhere in Swiss Cheese Land. I'm keeping my eyes on the Euromariner 2008.

This is one tempting watch, I am not a huge fan of Rollies but since they were founded in London, and the Sub is such a legendary watch, it is one I will definitely get for my collection and slowly add some franken parts too.

All the best, and enjoy your new life away from the forum.

I got mine from Silix and the date lines up perfectly. Just be sure to check the finish on the edges of the dial. The paint is very fragile and flakes off where it contacts the bezel rim.

Great review and sums up the Blackbird well, one of the best reps around and a must for any collection. The BB is a stunning looking rep and despite the flaws, which nobody would really notice anyway unless a gen was next to it, it is still one of the most accurate reps I have seen considering the busy dial.

Very true, I commented on it at the time and was told it was because of a typo that she put up the wrong price. I knew that it was BS. I still think that there is a fair bit of flexibility on the 475 price, but it will take a while for the market to cool off and give the dealers reasons to lower their prices to more reasonable levels. They just need to sort out the date window, lack of lume and better strap options. Then I'm in.
-
Yep, lets hope that helps it sell out fast. I can't wait for the corrected one, and some lume on the numbers would be useful too. Especially when the watch is being sold at a premium.

Just given him a vote! Good luck to him, sounds good. So far voting has him 3rd by a whisker. Tom

Any progress?

Nice collection!

Maybe they are having a party. On a serious note, they are probably just upping their presence with some training exercises in the area to show Iran they are all at the door and ready if they get a little full of themselves and pop a few rockets over to Israel.
-
They said they were doing a whole load of server changes, so guess it is playing up still.

Stunning watch!
