  1. I'm looking forward to the Norwegian Drive-By.
  2. They sound different when tapped with a fingernail. Learn the sound.
  3. There is no evidence that shows we're any less safe because we're not allowed to wander the streets tooled up. Would you consider the streets of inner city London safer than the mean streets of LA? Would you feel safer walking through gangland with a gun, knowing everyone else, including that group of angry-looking men on the corner, might be equally armed? I'd rather live in a country that makes it very, very difficult for a junkie with no fear of death to get a gun.
  4. Thomas requested questions on Twitter, and it's nice to see he asked them, but he missed my one on how interchangeable the parts were. It'd be great if The Zigmeister could get an SW200 to compare with a proper ETA.
  5. You're allowed 'equalisers' at home. You're just not allowed to walk the street with them. Absolutely. It's about the amount of force you respond with, not what you respond with. If some ned breaks into my house and I pull a sword on him, if he wets himself and runs, I can't kill him on the way out. If I don't feel threatened, I certainly won't respond out of spite.
  6. Maybe the movement is too thick to fit in a Speedy case.
  7. That's what I'd like sources for. I'm not sure you'd get in trouble for having a bat next to your bed. I think there's nothing in the law to suggest you could be charged with anything, even if you hit an intruder with it. So, please confirm it's actually the law before quoting it as if it is. "Anyone can use reasonable force to protect themselves or others, or to carry out an arrest or to prevent crime. You are not expected to make fine judgements over the level of force you use in the heat of the moment. So long as you only do what you honestly and instinctively believe is necessary in the heat of the moment, that would be the strongest evidence of you acting lawfully and in selfdefence. This is still the case if you use something to hand as a weapon." - http://www.cps.gov.uk/Publications/prosecution/householders.html
  8. I would love to see how to extend a stem. Do you have a tutorial?
  9. Ok, I let this slide earlier, but now it's being taken at its word and used as an example of how ridiculous UK law is, I'm going to have to ask you to back this statement up. To the best of my knowledge, you are allowed to keep anything legal anywhere in your house.
  10. I've been looking for the longer stems for a few months now. It's great on rep tube/crown but when you put the gens in, it's just too long. What I've managed on my UPO is to file 0.5mm off the end of tube and it seems to work. Time will tell, and it's still a quite tight fit. What others do is only put the stem in the crown part-way and loctite it.
  11. Did you miss the ETA 7753 and the ETA 2894 off your list?
  12. Crawling out of bed, bleary-eyed and weary. Let's see what I've grabbed. Oh, it's this.
  13. How much do you want to spend? When you start adding up the costs, you're getting close to the price of a gen. This one cost me $1000 on this very forum - there are bargains to be found.
  14. Isn't a 2893 just a 2892 with a GMT plate on it? If so, it's not a stretch.
  15. A moon-phase should be a 29.5 day cycle or it's just a fancy month indicator.
  16. Ah, read what I said and pretend I'm smiling and giggling throughout. It'll give my post the tone intended. I suspect my humour doesn't traverse the Atlantic well-preserved.
