  1. Um, mine is from Precious Time. It's good. You don't need to worry too much about the Asian 7750. They're rather good these days.
  2. He won a World Superbike title on a Honda in 2002. I wouldn't dare call him slow. I just wish he'd win a MotoGP race one day. He was robbed at Assen.
  3. Analogue TVs won't be obsolete as long as there are digital tuners and while Blu-ray disks cost $25.
  4. Yeah, well if you will keep her up all night ...
  5. Edwards is always fastest on Monday, but it's a little late by then. This Monday, he didn't even test, but Toseland was 6th fastest on the last day. Still, it was a reduced field and was there just for testing parts and gathering data.
  6. Get AR. If you decide you need superlume, get gen hands and dial instead.
  7. West qualifies well, although he is really good when it's a lot wetter than that. Edwards and Melandri know they'll never get to the top and win the BMW, so all they try to do is get wet weather data at Jerez. Not too stupid. Stoner was significantly faster than anyone else, and that means he's going to be hard to beat.
  8. I agree! It looks like you all had a blast.
  9. Oh? It's humour. This is a joke thread, in case you missed it.
  10. Oops, I missed this thread. Anyone want to merge mine in?
  11. Back to work, it's Monday. I'm really enjoying this deployant strap. It's a replica Breitling MooCroc, from what I can tell.
  12. The right way to do it is to wind down the spring and leave it in the winding position, but most non-experts (myself included) will use the setting position so the hands stop moving the cheap way.
  13. There's little worse than waking up the morning after the night before and finding you've bought a piece of crap. Oh, maybe there is, if it's the watch pictured.
  14. I found myself in an AD with my GST on, before I realised how daft it was. Not a chance they'd ever spot it, even close up. Once, a guy looked at it closely to show how the Hamilton he was trying to sell me used the same fonts on the datewheel as the IWC. Sheesh.
  15. Getting crystals off isn't the problem; putting them back on properly is. If you just want to clean the crystal, there are plenty of articles here on how to remove movements safely. Don't remove the crystal just to clean it.
  16. Excellent review! I'd like to hear what the web browser and email client are like. What's the browser like for compatibility with, say, this forum? And is it just GPRS or does it do Edge as well? I don't think this phone will beat the iPhone at its own game, but I get the impression it's an excellent fun alternative if you don't need the iPhone's features/interface/integration. If the internet browser is good, it looks like a handy little web-in-your-pocket phone.

That's expensive, especially when you consider you just have to run a simple application to unlock the phone now.

I never said you couldn't. How much are they, by the way?
  19. If the new 3717 AR is the same as on the Top Gun, it's more blue dye than AR. It does have AR properties, but it's nowhere near as good as the after-market stuff our pair of AR jockeys supply.
  20. The reason for not touching parts with bare fingers is the grease can cause serious long-term damage to parts, even if you wash your hands first. Great tutorial, just to show how easy it is to get started in watch-fiddling. Sure, you make tons of mistakes, but it's better to make them on a $100 toy than a $350+ watch. ps. I'd love to get that movement for $25.
  21. I get mine from Cousins. http://www.cousinsuk.com/ Here are the names and part numbers from my last order: Valjoux 7750 Date Indicator 3 o'clock White Figures On Black Background (VAL775025571WB3) x 2 @

You'll get my opinion, yes. I'm interested in finding out more. Will you be able to borrow an iPhone for comparison, or nip to your local Apple Store/O2 store, etc.? If not, I'll be down in London the first week of March ...
  23. Your best bet is to get yours tested. Just because one person's Carrera would be waterproof doesn't imply yours would be. There's no testing done on these watches at the factory and no certification by the dealers.

Unlike replica watches, you can't expect the same functionality in replica phones. Having said that, if you're buying an iPhone for the style, sure, get a rep. I bought mine for the functionality.
