I seem to remember hearing that this is a symptom of some sort. I have an ETA2824 that when wound past a certain amount spins the autowinder's weight around, reducing the power reserve to a matter of a few hours.
Does anyone know off the top of their head if this is an easy fix? I have no problem diving a certain distance into the back of an ETA as long as I don't have to get to the main spring or the drive train after the escapement. I know my limits.
And yes, if I keep on going like this, there will come a point where I can completely strip a 28xx, but that day is not today.
