You only need to get caught out once. I don't think fake US ID would work if you're not American. A bunch of young lads with German accents will stick out a mile, especially if they've all got California IDs.

I leave mine in the cradle overnight, charging, awaiting its duty as my alarm clock. It probably spends a few hours every night sitting in the cradle fully charged. It's perfectly safe to leave it in all the time; them's clever electronics inside.
