  9. You can get a real ETA in a rep no problems, made in and ETA factory be that in switzerland or asia (where they used to have factorys)it is just that tbey are gettingharder too get hold of and i think many are being taken out of old stock of unsold watches as we keep seeing older movements, also dirty ones or ones that the oil has emulsified.
  10. if you are going to mod any thing then the tube is what i would do. Like bob says above
  11. One good point for the clone that it will be new An ETA may well be old stock that is in need of a service any way There is some interesting info here about asian movements, it is a bit of a read but well worth it and there is link later on in that post to a more in depth look personaly i am not put off by the asian movement at all

  17. Some interesting thoughts there WE, and it is good to see a trader taking part in discusion here on the board. I would not say that collecting a designer watch is most inportant but that may well depend on your view or what a designer watch is, I think that most people go for Iconic brand names as opposed to a designer (Gerald Genta being an exeption with the Ingy, Patek Nautilus and the AP) One of the most colected watches, the Vintage sub was still made in vast numbers and has an unrivalaled popularity and value today for those people with Gens these are as good as money in the bank.
  18. I can just imagine that LOL
  19. If that is a sapphire you can always swap the cyclops over There is a post about it somewhere
  20. If they are UV lights then more than likely but if you have a nail salon the ones my wife spends al day with here hand in are the best
  21. No Ar on most rolex glasses the Glue you want from cousinsuk.com A F Minad UV cure glue C0365 £11.60 plus tax and post Loks like that crystal is from something with an ETA date wheel position
  22. 4mm????????????? you got to post a picture of that! You can get the glue from most watch supply houses, but you will need a UV lamp to cure it, (got a nail salon near you?)
  23. If they are in a case with a dial on then it sounds just like Rolexman says above, check the dial feet are still attched also!
  24. There are two ways depending on how it is mis-aligned, A remove the crystal and refit it B Remove the loupe and re-glue it on Both are fairly simple with the right tools and experience if it is a sapphire crystal A invilves removing the caeback, stem and movement ect and pressing out the crystal with a crystal press and then pressing it back in B involves heat to melt the glue that holds the loupe on and re gluing it with UV activated glue
