Now,now Doc, don't fall for the trap, of visualising the owner, by virtue of the breed! OR his demeanour! @ 6'-2", and 120kg...definetly not an "angry ant"....but aggressive and loud, when circumstance requires. Maybe the similarities can be seen in levels of intelligence however....Poodles voted #1 in many polls. Actually one of the many redeeming features of the Poodle, is that it has a "fleece" as akin to a "coat" of normal dog hair. It leaves no hair around the home....and I can tell you, that a chronic asthmatic, appreciates those subtle finer points. Yep, poodles are certainly top of the tree, in the Offshore household. O/S

Very much dog lovers in this house! We have poodles (Miniature not toy) and they are the most intelligent and loving dogs you will ever meet. However, I have seen nasty, snappy, and sometimes dangerous versions of a lot of breeds....most very much like their owners So if we wish to critique a breed, it may be best to 1st profile those who have "educated" the animal, and we may find that there is a bit of "like father, like son" to be found in the dog....not the breed. As I sit here right now, a young pup next door, is yowling his dissatisfaction with life. It is around dinner time, and his owners have been absent all day, it is getting chilly, and he is chained up. And if history repeats itself, the owners will probably not return until tomorrow afternoon. I will feed it (again) tonite, make sure it has water, and can at least survive another day or two. Bad dogs....sure...some are so poorly bred, that they enter the world with too great a handicap to ever be a useful part of the world. Bit like a number of their carers! Offshore

Great stuff...Joe was the MAN! Bit hard to do the bridal waltz to, however! (Only TT knows what that is about!) Offshore

From a bit of a PP perve (I have 3), that is one pretty watch. If it is 18k it is most probably a #3606, although that one came with a mesh bracelet. There could have been other options obviously. Cooksey & Shugart, list the #3606 @$4-$6.5k (mint) However the value of that watch to you...is PRICELESS! Do NOT think of selling it, but if you must, I would like 1st dibs. As others have said, get a pro to remove the caseback, and you will get the info you want. Then a real value can be established...all the above is just summation. Offshore

triosL, There are a number of watch hand manufacturers, who make "aftermarket" hands, to fit Rolex. That is what you are looking at. There are also manufacturers, (some of them the same) who make Rolex and other brand hands, to fit various ETA movements, and also Chinese movements. Different movements, have different size pinions, which require different sized hands. It is a minefield, believe me. Had a movement recently which had failed. It was cheaper to replace than repair. So I fitted the #2 version, only to find, that even though it was the same #no, the pinion had been changed, so the old hands wouldn't retrofit. And this was on a Miyota quartz, very common model...there would be thousands, if not millions out there. Obsolesence? Or maybe sell more new hands? Offshore

Our bouncers.........only eject those who don't follow the rules. Maybe you were fortunate they only had a "chat". This is a private bar! Offshore

Firstly, whether someone is an accessory dealer, or a watch dealer, they are bound by the same requirements. From memory, when he 1st joined, he was mainly trading in parts, so he joined in the accessory section. However you raise a valid point, which we will discuss in admin. Altho it may be seen as semantics, I guess? Offshore

Guys, If your normal bar is shut for renovations...... we welcome you all for a drink here! After all, we are all watch lovers.....and who knows, you may even find some good info, if you talk to the home crowd a bit, and have a wander around! We simply ask that no one causes trouble, or messes up the place. So enjoy your stay...and maybe increase your knowledge. Offshore

So I should watch the rowing.... for some good news? Sorry, that was tongue in cheek.... however you have probably pointed out another reason why I am so underwhelmed. Let's hope it finishes ASAP, so we can get some flow of watches to look at again! Offshore

Didn't see it... don't want to......! I am so underwhelmed about these games... don't know if it is the "China" thing...Tibet...censorship, or the drugs debacle. Think moreso, probably the latter. I have trouble watching an athlete win a Gold medal, and not asking myself if they have had "assistance". Not aimed at any country or group, we have had some here in Oz as well.... I just think the whole deal is now irreversably tainted. So aside from what I get fed on the radio, or inadvertently cop on the news, or happen to see on the 'net.... there won't be any Olympics in the Offshore household. Just my opinion.....enjoy the games everyone! Offshore

@ capice, Unfortunately that link, will only take you to a "PM the admin" link. And T is on holidays for a couple of weeks, (without his laptop ) However, we are sorting it in admin now, and cbr, will be a brite & shiny platinum again....real soon. If anyone else experiences a prob, please just contact 1 of the admin team. Actually we have commenced a discussion on how to overcome this problm in admin, ....this is not the 1st time it has happened. We will see if we can arrange a sort of a "rego sticker" for each member....although I suspect it may not be practical. But bear with us.......we have some of the greatest minds in computing now on the case And will probably get it resolved before the turn of the century (This problem has occured, due to the actions of whoever "arranged" to have the Paypal accounts shut down.... we have some suspects... and the investigation continues) Offshore
