Further update- Payments now received from- ar0401,toadtorrent,Sherrington, Phaedo, nrg, moppel, coltair, scoobs,Logan, steppen. Thanks guys.(Anyone else who beleives they have paid, please advise...but I reckon I'm up to date) As I said earlier, have run into a minor hiccup burning copies. One of my computers is trashed and away, being repaired/updated, but I am told it won't be back till Friday! (They have also taken my two other CD-R/RW units from my other computer to repair/upgrade) All the files are saved and OK, and I have backups on each of the original CD's. So many apologies in dragging this out, but I can't push them any harder. I have blank CD's, mailers, customs dec forms, all filled out, ready for posting, as soon as I have product to ship. Anyone with any dramas with all this- just yell! Don't worry guys, you'll get your christmas stocking stuffers! Offshore

You could be well advised to have a look at this! http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?s=&...st&p=322407 I found more information on crystals- fitting, types, tools required, in this, than anything else I could find on the www. You will find that their are many types and styles of presses/grabs available. And in most cases each serves a different purpose, or different style of crystal. It is not a one does all type of enterprise. hope it may help. Offshore

Whilst these prices are "there and about" others mentioned here, http://www.pmwf.com/Watches/Watch%20Sales%20Table.htm it may serve as a good reference point for the various models/styles. (And not a bad site for other info) Offshore

@rodwc, Some years back, I did some business consulting...amd we had a formula to work out the "real' cost of an employee. Can't dig it out right now (and it would have altered anyway, with changes to super etc).... but it was dam close to 50% of an hourly rate, on top, to cover super, holiday pay, leave loading, sick pay, compassionate time off, etc etc. So an employee on that mythical $25/hr, is costing his employer somewhere around $35-$37hr or a touch more. Self employed or not, you still must take your wages as an overhead, or cost of doing business, and it is not unreasonable to expect to obtain some profit on that cost. So a 50% margin, (which is skinny by a lot of companies thinking) says a minimum charge out would need to be +/-$54hr, (not far short of your $60 guestimate) JUST to return outgoings, and a minimal level of profit. From recent experience, I can assure you, that an electrician earning $25/hr, is charged out at $75/hr+ ! The other real problem, is productive hours! We were seeing the best of our workforce, who were working a 40hr week, able to offer at best, the ability to charge no better than 30-32 hours/week. So in redoing the sums, that $75/hr is looking very close to the mark! And if you have slack workers, who are not correctly booking time (or a system not capturing it well) you can see a worker falling to 18-20 charged hours/week. then the numbers are looking decidely unhealthy! $60/hr?....probably not enough! Advice re all the above will be posted for admin next time he checks in. offshore

Really? Pity actually, as he's no longer a member here! So the folks will just have to seek his "services" elsewhere. Offshore PS, how's NYC these days?

Your admin team like to try to keep the place fresh and filled with new ideas. Not much use us coming up with things that you guys and gals don't want, or are not interested in. We have had a couple of great suggestions made to admin of late, and are working to implement them, along with some of our own thoughts. How about, each and every one who reads this thread, give a quick thought to what YOU would best like to see here. And instead of posting them, PM them to a team member.... keeps the place tidier and neater ! All contributions gratefully accepted, and due credit will be given as we implement your ideas. So come on all.... tell us what you think! Offshore

Recently had to purchase some Omega bits via Ofrei. I was told that shipping was U$37, and although it seemed excessive, I had few options. The parcel arrived today... you can't beleive that a company would pack 1 x stem, 1 x crown, and 1 x buckle, in a "Flat rate" box measuring approx 12" x 12" x 4". It was all in an envelope, smaller than a conventional mail envelope! It did have some wonderful bags of air, and bubble wrap surrounding it, ( which I threw in the bin) This all could have shipped for under U$5, and it's not as if Ofrei are making the $$, cos the box costs that to ship. Just another wonderful example of "policies" gone wrong. Are there no people with brains to think for themselves left in this world? At best somone could have made the decision to post in a normal envelope, and make the company some extra profit... and you know I would be less aggrieved if that had happened, I HAD agreed to the post charge... but to ship a box of air, and give the $$ to US Post??? Doesn't make any sense to me. Funny world we live in. Offshore

This is eggsasperating! Realise please, that egg problems, are no laughng matter. Said to the doc, just recently..... Doc, I said, I have an egg problem...... To which he replied......I understand... eggsactly. Not something to crow about.
-
I would have thought that to be sunny side down. CS, stop side tracking this very serious and important thread... I was about to reveal some medical advice I received about eggs, and then off you fly, egg crapping, as usual.

You mean my egg doctor?

Ah, there we go, back a page or two... talking about eggs again.

Barely. Thought Easter came before Chistmas every year!

Ahhh, you to LR! Exactly my intro to reps,'cept maybe I wasn't quite so young! Actually I joind there just after it had formed from the old RWCC. I had recieved a spam email about Italian reps, which had piqued my interest Spent about a month trying to come to grips with why the Reptile Centre style sites never posted my questions on the forum. Then the penny dropped, I found TRC, and THE LIGHT. again, the rest is history, good and bad. Offshore

Some look for Easter eggs under the tree. Others await, with trepidation, the floating bear.

llsteve, I think you have already pretty succesfully summarised the history of this place! A sub comittee of sorts, formed from mods and older members from RWG1 decided to move on, when we feared that forum may fall over. KB had a discussion with T, and bingo we had an admin. (realise also that a lot of these members had their initial roots at TRC) The rest as we say is history. There have been a couple of personnel changes in admin over the years, some moved on, some added, (we currently have a couple on extended sabbaticals) As a group, we tend to want to look forward to positive outcomes, not revisit too much of the past, as generally we are then visiting less positive times or matters! Onward and upward. Offshore

Another quick heads up. Have had a few probs burning CD's, in fact, in the last 5 minutes, my CD burner, (an old 1998 model,) just packed it in, so I am off to the 'puter shop for a new one this morning. I'm convinced it is hardware related, but this may set me back a couple of days in processing all the needs. Also, have had a late "rush of blood" with orders, so a bit more work to be done!! Will keep all informed here. Offshore
