More good wishes from Oz, mate. Hope you're back with us, and fighting fit very soon. Offshore

Well, I beleive you need to document NOW what you beleive needs to be done to make this right, so there is no room for error at a later time. Numerical points sometimes work best. 1.XXXXXXXXXXXXXfitXXXXXXXXXX 2.YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYreplaceYYYYYYY 3.ZZZZZZZZZZZZZrepairZZZZZZZ Etc, Offshore

Been some good things said about this guy over the years...don't think he's all that cheap though. http://www.timeman.net/ Also there is an Oz company on ebay... watchco.. who have a lot of these, keep an eye open. Offshore -
UHH! ETA-Sub with Rolex parts on ebay... 405 GBP by now...
offshore replied to Ingo's topic in The Rolex Area
I don't see a problem with this, certainly no intent to scam. I bet ebay will leave it go, as they only want the revenue. They do howver have a program called VRO, ( Verified Rights Owner... or some such nonsense), so i'm sure if Rolex or GAF complain, it will disappear in a heartbeat! Offshore -

Whilst this is a little OT, further to my above comment, I would like to relate a little story (previously posted) about marine aftermarket parts. (This is in the late 80's) I was in Taiwan sourcing aftermarket parts ( for my own business) and went to a rubber moulding factory where they were churning out outboard motor water pump impellors (by the thousands)- price was great- and I asked if they had part no's stamped on them- was told -
Nanug my friend, there is an easy answer for what ails you. Break out the plastic, and pay a visit to the local AD at lunch time...I'm sure there will be something ( maybe a mint Kon Tiki) on the shelves, to ease your pain! Offshore

Whilst surfing tonite, I stumbled over this. http://horologyzone.com/watch/watch-school/eta.html I DO NOT recommend this as the definitive answer or training for repair, however it has some informational value. Also, this site has some links to some tools. The prices didn't look all that shabby! Offshore

Well, the race that stops a nation.... and even has a public holiday....good thing horses are a vice (one of very few) I don't have So I won't be watching, nor do I have the vaguest idea what may win this. But I am told it is one of the most difficult to tip, yet attracts more wagers fom mug punters than any other event... go figure! So I guess I can afford to waste a few $$ on another vice Good luck to all the "punters" Offshore

Indeed, pics would be nice! Cos, the words Planet Ocean, Italy, rep, and 500 Euro, all in the one post, just spin my mind a liitle Offshore

Doc, Another old divers quote, (and it applies to self as well) "There are old divers, and there are bold divers.... but there aren't any old, bold divers" Maybe the old guys were on to something? Offshore

Do you have an ETA P/N for these? Offshore

Certainly feel your pain. However you need to put this one down to experience. (read my siggy!) Can only suggest you go back to the seller, and see if he can assist with bits, or see if someone here may have more ideas. And if you need dial work done in the future, maybe just spend the $$ with someone who can do the job professionally! It may actually turn out to be your cheaper option! Offshore Ah, I see babola has some tips already.

Have you guys ever heard the word.. ANAL.. Sheesh... and loving it! Where else could one ever go, to acquire this sort of information, and discourse? I have said it before, and will say it again, we have some of the most intelligent WIS collectors around. Period. This is not about something being a rep, gen, or Frank, but more about the sharing of accumulated knowledge. And I beleive some WIS from the gen forums, would be overwhelmed, if they visited here. 'Course they wouldn't lower themselves, but wouldn't they get an unholy scare, both at the knowledge, and what some reps can finally grow to. Thanks guys, you just reconfirmed why I spend my time here. Offshore And no DBR, I won't even try on that one...let's leave it to the experts.

May not be THE admin Victoria! I think he may well be away on a trip. But there are a couple of others with the keys to the safe, who may wreak unspeakable IT havoc, given a goodly few drops of amber ale! Not the least, he above you, ( although I don't think he is yet trusted with the keys), but he certainly enjoys an ale, and has a devious and warped mind, when it comes to IT matters Offshore

Well, After 16 pages, 300+ posts, and 9000+ views, the elusive Slevin may well be just around the corner. They can't say you're not patient Pugs Although I may be led to beleive this is all a Halloween joke, and the real release date is April 1 Now just pray for the QC! Offshore

Or maybe he needed the "Tongue in cheek" emoticon for his 1st post in this thread! Having been round for a good part of TTK's times in forum world, I beleive he and a large wooden spoon, make perfect bedfellows. Burley up the pelagics, and see what sort of a strike you can get....and more than some degree of consumer sentiment as well. Forum life would be decidely more boring without these levels of enlightenment.... as some are finding! Offshore

If you are very sure of the dial material, and print medium, you can soak the dial in Steradent. That is the effeveescent product used for cleaning false teeth. ( Steradent here in Oz.) Allow to bubble for 5 minutes and dab dry. Have had some very good success, and also have destroyed a couple, when I didn't realise the dial was either a transfer, or paper face, or the lettering was water soluble!!!! Seems that vintage dials are more "robust" and in the main will work with this method.... newer dials tend to not react as well. And unfortunately it is not like you can test a sample area So user beware. Offshore

What do you guys say in court? "I'll take the fifth" Nah.... easy.... watch crystals! Offshore

Yep, you read it right... watch bras! Thought I had seen everything, until I stumbled over this one on the 'bay tonite. http://cgi.ebay.com/WatchBra-Watch-Crystal...1QQcmdZViewItem So go for it guys... B..C.. or E cup? And we won't go there about the dimensions Offshore

@fp, I don't know the size of these. Do you have the caseback off? Can you measure an OD, or an ID, and supply a section dia? Are these flat rings or O rings? I probably have one, but just need the size! It's yours for postage cost only. Just give me dimensions. Offshore
