  1. There is a quartz Chrono Avenger, but it has a completely different dial layout.
  2. I've only just started to like them this last few days, so everyone pop them into the for sale forum, and I'll pick one up cheap.
  3. I like the Planet Ocean, though these days i like it less than i used to. At one time, i had 5 different versions of it (2x 45mm UPOs, 1 Asian 45mm, and 2x 4th gen 42mms) I liked it so much. Now i'm down to 2. A UPO, and a UPO lite (the first proper ones). Neither of these have the bracelet attached. The orange one is on a silix 22mm black rubber strap, and the black one is on one of Joshua's crocodiles with Omega deployant. I think it went down on my list when i got my Breitling Chronomat Evo. That watch is just so stunning.
  4. It is, except this is black, not blue like the standard co-axial SMP. I hope those whispers have some truth to them. I like the catchy model number for it. It's 212.30.41.20.01.002. It just rolls off the tongue.
  5. I can't believe no one's mentioned my new favourite Seamaster which is begging to be repped: No, it's NOT the Bond LE. Take a closer look. Put simply, there are so many of the Seamaster range that could use a 1:1 case, it must make sense to make it
  6. Sounds to me like its a quartz that needs a new battery.
  7. Am I the only one here who's only interested in the black steel version? I saw both the SS on bracelet, and the black steel on rubber at my local AD and the latter just looked far more appealing.
  8. I've had the same screw come loose on mine, while i had the half link extension open. I wondered what was wrong when it wouldn't go back, and noticed the screw was hung out. I seem to remember reading a post saying something similar a few weeks ago.
  9. It has to be the Richard Lange, though i do love the Lange 1 too.
  10. Won't there be an issue with the GMT hand size when switching? I know the hour and minute hands will fit both movements no problem, but the GMT hand?
  11. It's purely financial for me. A Rolex Submariner would cost me a quarter of my annual income. I could never live with just that one watch, even though i could probably save for one; so reps and cheap gens are what i buy. I am going to spend some money on a proper gen in the near future as i've only bought one rep in the last 12 months - the GMTII Ceramic. I'll probably go for something like a used Seamaster if i can get a bargain.
  12. Wow. I was never a fan of Breitling until i got my EVO, now it's probably my favourite watch in my collection. I've just got to have one of these new ones.
  13. That effect happens when the outside of the crystal is domed, but the inside is flat. Gen Omega crystals (and plenty of reps) have crystals that are domed inside and out so the crystal is the same thickness at all parts.
  14. Very nice. I'm waiting for mine to come. My first rep in over a year!
  15. Don't the new ones have the incorrect hand stack? That modified version of the 2836 (24 hour hand on the bottom) has been around since before i got into reps, so well over 3 years. I don't remember reading too many posts about them failing.
  16. Nah, that's not a keeper. Sell it to me. Seriously, that looks lovely. I've always liked the white Seamasters. But, why did you need to lume the dial? The gen dial should have had super luminova on it anyway.

My apologies. In the Top Gear episode where he moves the bezel to annoy James, i swear i saw a 42mm bezel style. I've just checked it again on my Sky+, and it is indeed a 45mm. EDIT: And i wrote this post before your screen grab loaded. All that searching for nothing! I know he had the old SMP for years. Just before he got the PO, he looked to be wearing a Breitling chronograph for a while. Man he has big wrists. I've just been watching him throw the 599 Fiorano around the track in the same episode, and it looks much smaller on him. Mind you, he is 6'5".

    42mm actually, on rubber.
  19. Personally, i love the BCE and the Speedmaster, but not the Speedmaster posted. Between those two, i'd chose the Breitling every time. Against a silver dialed Speedmaster Broad Arrow however, it would be a different matter.
  20. There is no multi-region playback for DVDs or Blu-ray discs on the PS3. At least on the player side. However, many discs, even some badged as region A will play on region B (European) players/PS3s. Theres a list on the web somewhere. Personally, i have HD-DVD (xbox360 addon) at the moment which is totally region free. I will be adding an LG BD-ROM/HD-DVD ROM combo drive to my media PC as soon they appear on the shelves over here. I can see the format war lasting for quite a few years yet, so it's best to either have the both, or stick to DVD for the time being.
  21. I concur. I might get the AMG version of this if it appears. I once saw someone wearing the gen on the kevlar strap. It looked very nice.
  22. The one with the red writing is the real graphite dial, the other one (shown as Joshua's) is supposed to be grey with black subdials. I believe it's better now than when that picture was taken. I have the graphite, and yes, it looks fantastic on a black leather strap. Even better than on the bracelet.
  23. Personally, i prefer the SS EVOs to the two tones, but i prefer the two tone Navitimers to the SS ones. You can't really go wrong with either, they're both gorgeous. That said, i'd love a two tone Navitimer Fighters with a black dial.
  24. The reason it doesn't look thick, is that the front and back of the crystal are both curved equally, so it's the same thickness accross the whole crystal. This stops the lens effect you get on many watches (eg, a PAM111) when you look at them from an angle, rather than head on.
