  1. Wow J! That is looking really good. Pretty soon you'll be a one stop shop!
  2. I think the OP mean't vintage prawns ...not vintage prons!
  3. I had the same problem with DW bezels. I eventually used a cartel bezel for my build...
  4. Love the dial treatment, but now everything else needs to be aged to match...Great job!
  5. SWEET!! I'm the wiener....er...winner!!!

  7. I have always thought of trying to swap a seagull movement for a Landeron movement in one of the PP reps. The use of a valjoux movement might cause problems in that I believe a V23 is smaller than a seagull or a Landeron movement and I l believe that the sub-dial spacing is incorrect, so you really can't use a gen-spec dial on a seagull/Landeron movement. I really haven't spend a lot of time assessing this project, because I have yet to run into a PP that I like in the sales section to experiment. Just a thought...
  8. The case looks good from the new angles...looks really nice as is...wear it well dude....
  9. Now that is a project...full detail...well thought out and the end result is fantastic! Congrats p!
  10. Thanks everyone! The finish worked so well that I might use it on a dial for a project that I need to finish for a friend!
  11. It would probably be cheaper for you to sell the 1570 (instead of converting it) and put that money into a GMT movement.
  12. Very nice L!!!! So what are you going to do with the other sm300?
  13. some yes...some no...you really have to pick and choose...
  14. Sorry...Correct Hand Stack...hands are stacked like the gen...
  15. I'm quite positive the factories don't make the CHS movement anymore...discontinued quite awhile ago. If you ordered one, I would be surprised that you get a CHS movement. The CHS is not a problem if you don't fiddle around with it and have it serviced. My Ultimate GMT IIc has been going strong for about 3 years now.
  16. Good point P! The Tudor subs are a rare beast seen in the wild...maybe this will be another Tudor sub that never existed...like the 7206 L...for the 7922BC Yuki 6538 case (rehaut a little wokky for a 6538) Custom Natalie dial Tudor 390 NDT big crown Yuki 7206 for the 7922 old skool Tudor case (1st gen from Natalie or Phong?) not sure of the dial (possibly Natalie or Phong) Tudor 2461 Yuki 7206 bracelet.
  17. I recently converted my 6538 into a 7922BC. I have a spare 7922 200m dial that I was always not quite happy with the gloss finish. I have taken quite an interest in trying to achieve different looks of vintage dials. So I experimented...coming up with this vintage finish... Here is the cased up result... Next up is to relume the pearl to match the dial lume and fade the bezel insert just a little more to give it the bluish-grey color. Now to go back to my 1675 and re-vintage that dial. So...a 200m dial in a thin submariner case? Oh well, we'll just call it a transisitional model, even thought the twin lock crowns go to 100m (I think?) I couldn't find a 1035 (and don't have the funds!) to convert this bad boy to a 6542. Thanks for looking everyone
  18. A journey into new frontiers! I'm going to be your first customer! Pick me to be the guinea pig!!!
  19. looks really good IMO...how about a nice set of CousinsUK hands relume to match the dial?
  20. Congrats! Very nice collection of chronos!
  21. D...If your DW case happens to be too big for the 7732, I have DW case that was a tad to small to stick a 7734 in...I can swap mid-cases with you.
  22. If you are trying to fit a gen 5.3 crown (they are really about 5.45mm in diameter) on the Josh 1655, first try measuring the end of the rep tube that accepts the crown. If it is 4mm then then it will accept a gen 5.3mm crown as is... But if it is not the same size, you can either: 1. Scavange some of your old reps with 6mm crowns and find a tube that will accept a gen crown. Hopefully the case tube side is 3mm. or 2. Just use a 6mm crown that is on the 1655...the rep crown actually is about 5.8mm in size. So ~.5mm difference won't be very noticible unless a WUS was inspecting it up close. I hope that helps and clarifes things and saves some people headaches...
