Hi Guys... I have an a7750 6-9-12 with day/date that runs flawlessly...keeps great time...setting the day/date and time works fine, too... However, I've noticed that when i screw down or unscrew the crown, that the watch "winds"...you can here the winding sound...i have to assume the rotor winds, too, but i haven't opened the caseback to check that... as i said, all other attributes work fine...just this winding is unusual to me compared to my other 7750 reps... any idea?...what's the problem and what's the fix?... thanks...R

thanks, guys... mike - i literally spit out coffee... R

argh - need an ss bezel screw for a Skyland...if you have one to spare or have a broken Skyland and/or other parts, please let me know... not sure if the other Avengers or Breitlings with bezel screws will fit or not - but let me know if you have a spare and i'll sort thru that... thanks...R

woo hoo.... problem solved...the stem release button was NOT stuck...but that wasn't the issue...the stem is slightly too short...i adjusted the stem in the crown to lengthen it just a tad, and then it locked in fine...i probably need to get a longer stem as i don't want to glue this one...it does work ok now - but it should be tighter... there was a clicking/slipping of the stem when winding - which is why i opened it in the first place...this Breitling Chrono-matic is a cool handwind watch - as the stem/crown is on the left, but the chronos pushers are on the right...from a quick glance, i think the movement in it can also support the normal configuration of stem/crown and chronos pushers on the same side...very cool... i need to read RobbieG's guide again to determine if its venus, seagul, lemania... argh, S!... this is the second time...not sure if these movements are different than the other movements i've tinkered with - but some reason, i release the stem carefully... it releases, but i can't get it back in...the watch was wound and running and i released it in the winding position...but damn - this is frustrating... oh well...i'll check out the tutorial and see if i want to attempt this... R

argh...i removed the stem/crown from my breitling chrono-matic manual wind (venus 175 or seagull st-19 or ???) by gently depressing the release button with the crown in the winding position...stem/crown popped out fine...but it appears the release button is depressed and the stem/crown will not stay in - so i therefore cannot set the time... the watch is fully wound and running/working... did i frog up the keyless works or is there a simple way to reset the release button?... as always, advice welcome... thanks...R

very sharp, R...thanks for sharing... i love the look of base dial PAMs...and even better in a ti case...wearing my LH dial PAM 177 today...one of my favorite pieces...and you're right - there's something about the aging of these old ti cases... does this case have the engraved lugs on the underside?... wear it well...R

Mike's a bit grumpy... i agree with BT, i kinda like the yellow and silver look...marry this with a really sharp looking yellow rubber strap and the buckle from the new 22mm OR strap, and you have a cool looking summertime piece... now where to get that strap?!...i could use one for my Ebel, too...

+1... altho, i think it would be cool to brush one of these for use on the skyland and/or steelfish, too...
-
before i go screw up a couple crown guards, just wondering how you guys brush your crown guards to get that satin/brushed gen-like finish...what do you use - materials, process and/or tools... please share your technique...the more the merrier... thanks...R

hey Pete....lonnnnnnnng time... nice post... here's a couple of my fav Pam lume shots... 1. My 000 - The Zigmeister applied genuine Tritec superlume Grade A - which is the brightest and longest lasting of all the lumes...and to see it is to believe it... @Watchmeister - this is what you were referring to here: "What many people don't know is that there is an even better quality lume than what gen Panerai uses. Can't remember what it is called but it is way more expensive than super lume. The Zigmeister offers it to select customers but it is relatively rare, very expensive and actually puts the gen lume to shame." 2. My 252 - The Zigmeister applied genuine Tritec superlume blue; very cool....dare to be different... 3. My 177 - LH dial, flavr flav lumed...an awesome piece that's pure PANERAI...

man - i always enjoy reading your excellent review and analysis, R!... Thanks for all you do... Question(s): it looks like this won't accept an eta7750 or a7750 datewheel either due to the size, right?...if you put a thinnnnnnn overlay of an eta7750 or a7750 datewheel on top of the a7753 datewheel, would this movement align properly in our 7750 cases?...is the distance from the dial size to the stem the same as the 7750?...thinking this could possibly be a cheap alternative to closing the sunken datewheel gap on 7750 pieces... -
really nice work...thanks!...

excellent info, J...thanks!...R

well done and thanks... any chance of you cutting/pasting your RWI pix/review here to save everyone a hop?...

hey J...i am making arrangements to have the hands painted charcoal and then having it worked/assembled...the case will need a "countersink" of sorts for the gen tube to sit flush with the case...the drilling of the lugs is a cool mod, too...anyhow - i've decided that i should replace the crystal on my case to get rid of the etched coronet...not sure which crystal to replace it with...i picked up a 2.5x cyclops from pix - so i'll apply that later should i decide to do so...any recommendations on the crystal replacement and source?...i haven't measured the current one - but its in the daytona'ish case i bought...
-
very nice, J...what crystal is in that piece?... can't wait to get mine together...almost there... R
-
hey billy -- looks great...is this the case where the date advance pusher is a little lower on the case toward the middle?...more horizontally aligned with "75" than "73" looking straight on at the side... any profile pix of that side?... wear it well...glad its back on your wrist... R-

@chronoluvvv --> did you add a diff crown to yours or did it come that way?...it's definitely not the same as the original...yours is nice and thick... anyone know the thickness of the gen crown?...and/or which aftermarket crown is best fit for the v1?

i just did, too, Zap...
