  1. thanks, Yodap!... a great tutorial -- and one without a lot of fancy tools... (and a nice reminder for me to check out RWI and RG sometimes...RWG is my home!) R-
  2. ok...i was going to send a pm to PolexPete -- who had done some amazing modding of recent...but i thought it would be better to go public with my question so all could benefit...this inquiry is to anyone who has torn down a Navitimer, modded it, removed the bezel and/or crystal... call me crazy, but i am thinking of swapping the gold bezel from one of my Navitimers with the ss bezel on another Navitimer...compounding this all is that one of the Navitimers is a v1 (correct slide rule alignment) and the other is the current version...obviously i don't want to screw up either watch... so my questions are: how does the bezel remove on these watches?...is it simple to do?...is there a reasonable risk that i might screw it up taking it off and not be able to put it back on?...if the two watches are different, i won't make the swap -- but would like to put them back on their original spots... i am an absolute novice in this department, but am willing to try this if it's a no-brainer... lastly -- anyone with first hand knowledge on whether v1 and current versions of Navitimers are made by the same factory and/or whether the components of the watch are the same?... thanks...R
  3. nice piece...and thanks for the info on the mesh... the SOH must be the watch of the month...lot of interest on this one recently... enjoy yours!...R
  4. sharp SOH chrono, TB!...looks great on your wrist... shopping a non-chrono this week...R
  5. hmmmmm...interresting... very quiet on this combo front... as i said, i like dark brown (walnut) on black dial/bezel watches -- who doesn't?! -- but just wanted to see how this looked on the SOH... i have a plain dark brown/smooth (5mm) aged PAM strap on my 49mm railmaster xxl and it looks amazing...i have to think the dark brown leather on the black SOH would be a nice change to swap to from the OR rubber...love the OR, tho...so the leather is just for a change of pace... R-
  6. I am ordering an SOH "ultimate" which comes with the black rubber ocean racer strap w/ deployment... The dealer also gave me a great price on the rep breit moo-croc leather straps w/ deployment (24mm)...i planned to get the black one just to have it -- the price is very good... But now I'm thinking i should also order the dark brown leather strap, too...Love black watches on dark brown (walnut) Does anyone have pictures they can share of the black dial/bezel SOH on the dark brown w/ white stitching deployment strap?... To keep this post focused, i know i can go with a much better leather strap from someone else (BOB, etc)...but i have a real nice price on the standard breit rep straps w/ deployment in 24mm... Any pictures of this combo would be helpful... If you have any other dark brown (walnut) leather strap on the black dial/bezel SOH, please feel free to also post with strap info... Thanks...R
  7. Yodap -- so that means that a swiss movement SOH is from an older less "ultimate" version?...and that the "ultimate" version is only asian movement driven?... R
  8. is there a side-by-side picture or comparison of the dial/case/feature differences between the SOH asian and the SOH siwss?...i've poured thru this stuff before - but can't seem to locate it quickly... anyone with a link/post/etc?... thanks...R
  9. ummmmm...ok... (pssst - the strap needs to go -- vanilla, chocolate or strawberry)... R-
  10. buy the best versions...it's definitely worth the cost...on all fronts... i have both the non-chrono (white dial) and the limited edition chrono (gray dial) - same as Hike's...(he's my hero?!) the limited edition one has a lot of rwg press -- so search it out... you may also want to post a WTB for a member sale...i pounced on both of mine thru member sales and received great ones... below are links of both versions...there's a link to the FS on the chrono limited edition i bought...the post is loaded with excellent detailed pictures of this model...(thanks, Mickey)...of note -- pay attention to how the color of the subdial rings change hue with different lighting and angles... i have to end this with -- i love both version i own...they have different personalities...do plan to put on a different strap, tho...they look great on dark brown sport leather straps... enjoy...R Chrono Limited Edition pix in this post... Non-Chrono White dial pix in this post...

  21. @Corgi -- that's exactly what i was thinking...i've seen these models in Breguet, Chronoswiss and an older style ALS...probably the same manufacturer... if you want similar with a branded name, for approx $90-120usd check out watcheden.com and look under Breguet, Chronoswiss...these used to also be on cqout and ioffer...
