That avatar (I think) is Rowan Atkinson (famous worldwide as Mr.Bean) in the great British comedy Blackadder. I seem to remember that from one of the episodes. Great series As for women in cinema, a friend of mine seems to think Catherine Deneuve is one of the 5 most beautiful women of all time. Oh well, she's way too old for me now Tastes in women change all the time, after seeing Penelope Cruz in Volver recently, she's the one right now She gets topless in Abre Los Ojos too (she played the same character in the Hollywood remake Vanilla Sky). Great actress in her Spanish language movies.

Very interesting The casebacks were engraved AFTER the war (or their operations) to keep it unmarked? You could be right about the dial. Maybe it is a frankenwatch or "restored" one from way back when ?
-
Lovely I'm hoping to get a genuine dial for my titanium ETA 7750 Chrono Avenger too
-
Lovely watch I have a genuine dial for mine too, and want to get an ETA 7750 too. Where can you get hands ? Or would it be possible to lume these hands as there's nothing there at the moment. You can see the difference on the 60 seconds dial, where there is a brighter marker at the 0 mark. This isn't there on the rep dial.

Mine are: PAM127 with ETA 6497 PAM176 with ETA 6497 PAM187 with ETA 7753 PAM194 PAM212 with ETA 7750 PAM231 rose gold with ETA 6497 (and my first radiomir!) Tag Link Chrono (after I sell off my gen) IWC Ingenieur ----------------------------------------- Edit to add (edited on 04-October-2006): Cartier Pasha Seatimer (black dial) Cartier Roadster ----------------------------------------- Too many PAMs I'm sure there are others but can't think of them off-hand right now.

Next time you go in the sea, wear a wetsuit with the watch over the sleeve.

I liked those too, especially Strange Brew Forgot to add A Clockwork Orange - only saw it recently. Also, V For Vendetta I watched Owning Mahowny last night which was interesting. Reminds me of my obsessiveness with watches even though it's about a compulsive gambler.

Ah well, i have the chrono avenger and avenger seawolf. You can add that the Avenger Seawolf is mostly accurate but the caseback used is the same (I think) as the Chrono Avenger and has 300m instead of the dial's 3000m. I haven't checked the model numbers on the back lately, and can't remember if that was correct too.

I think there are 24 hour licenses for those that want them and apply for them. I don't think many do as staffing costs etc, but maybe on the weekends (or in Scotland) you get more open for longer?
-
How about Stockholm in Sweden? The part of London I'm in is also probably not the place to wear a nice watch, unless you look like me and wear soccer jerseys all the time with combats and trainers - no one would even believe if I could afford it or not and assume a rep!

Let me get something straight first, I'm NOT Scottish, but some of the questions apply to England too. I have no idea but agree with you about touching the sink. I think I have an OCD on that. The 2 separate taps for hot and cold water is the same in most of England too, but at home we have one outlet so it can mix, while at work it is two. Tradition perhaps ? There are licensing laws that mean drinks can't be sold after a certain time. (This may have changed but any new longer licenses still have to be applied for - 24 hour drinking may just be in England.) It doesn't make economic sense to employ people more than an hour or two after last drink sales are made. Normally, pubs last drinks are around 10 or 11pm, and clubs are around 2 or 3am. There are clubs in London that have been open til 5 or 6am but I'm not sure when the drinks stop selling. Police in the UK (as far as I know) don't carry handguns. They would have to call in for the special armed unit for a special case. It seems more to be about "intelligence" nowadays. You hardly see police walking on the streets as much, and they are usually in pairs in any case, and would have to radio back I would imagine. And they have truncheons here, not nightsticks. They can't talk any other way? Or they're drunk? Some Scots can be as snobbish as the French about their dialect Hope there's no offence in my answering some questions addressed to Scots. Maybe TTK should reply to his best mate Slay Peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...

I think the only Daytona I'd get now is a gen (fat chance) or a franken like this, except I don't have the same skill to do this Keep up the great work

Lovely projects. Wish I could too!

I talked to a watchmaker in England, who has told me the China-made ETA is the gold versions, and the nickel (silver coloured) movements are made in Switzerland. With the Asian-made ETA 7750 copy, which watches have the latest iteration ?

With a name like Rolex_Parts you're probably right. And at a higher price

No one else like...? Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind The Usual Suspects American Beauty Infernal Affairs (Hong Kong movie being butched by a Hollywood remake) Abre Los Ojos (was remade by Hollywood into Vanilla Sky) Scarface Goodfellas The Godfather Ciudad de Deus (Brasil's City of God) Deep Cover Motorcycle Diaries The Sting Trading Places La Dolce Vita New Jack City Amorres Perros American Psycho Psycho (Hitchcock's original) Pedro Almodavar's recent movie, Volver, was great too, and Penelope Cruz looks damn good there I could go on and on and on, dig back into every decade from the 50s and there's something I like I don't seem to have bothered watching Gladiator, The Green Mile and Saving Private Ryan (but my brother has them all on DVD, so someday) and couldn't be bothered with the 10 hours of children's books adaptations that the Lord of the Rings is. I do like Star Wars though! I can watch most movies, even cr@p ones! I even watch The Fast And The Furious and it's sequel, as well as Throttle, and the American Pie Series etc
