  1. Talk about going against the spirit of rep collecting....recommending an unrecommended dealer In all seriousness I would just say I got it from Ebay, he can either try the same route, or do some research and stumble across diffeent dealers on the way.
  2. Definitely, it's watches like these that really make you realise how good some reps are. Like you say, build quality and accuracy on this one is incredible.
  3. Very nice MP! I must admit, I love the predeccesor in yellow (the Ti version), but the SS Yellow doesn't seem to 'sing to me' as much. My only gripe with the grey is the slightly different colour....the gen has a more slatey appearance to it. However, unless you have them both next to eachother, no-one would be any the wiser Grey or black is definitely the way to go with this watch!
  4. This is a great review, and a review that I have been eagerly anticipating. It's such a nice watch, and the case size on the V1 really bugged me, but this V2 has replicated the Gen much better. Thanks again, and wear it well
  5. Very nice, was that a transplant, or was it the 5 door Civic that looks like the Rover saloon which coms with the b18? I really miss having a good jap car. I currently drive around in a Toyota Avensis for praciticality, but will be selling that very soon to make way for something more fun
  6. Check my forum name.....as a Jap fan you'll probably have heard of the legendary B16a2 engines in the Civic VTi's (SiR's in the states)
  7. arrrgghh as my grail, this is going to be pure torture Here are some pics of my now sold 3714 and a link to one of my first reviews;
  8. Not alot more I can add to the above comments, but once again, congrats Bytor! It's good to see another watch that you have admired for a long time join your very nice collection!
  9. On the date font alone that is the V3 BCE
  10. Congrats on the watch, I have never seen a picture that makes this watch look bad....it looks so good in every kind of setting, versatile springs to mind!
  11. This is the Breitling Emergency Mission. Its bezel numbering allows it to be used as a count-down timer.
  12. Some very nice JLC's around here! I remember when they released that JLC, it was originally for the DBS. I must admit I am not the biggest fan of that particular one.....but what a selling point!
  13. haha Let's get HackR in here then Going to take a trip to Nottingham next weekend where they have a JLC AD....going to do a bit of window shopping, and Il try and sneak a couple of pics whilst Im there!
  14. I have always found myself being pulled towards Breitling and IWC. Last year, I discovered Glashutte, and am very impressed by some of their watches especially the Pano-Dates that they use. Another brand I have found myself glancing at more and more over on TZ is JLC...I saw Jenson Button sporting a JLC MCC in a news article a while ago, and since then I can't stop looking at the unique designs that they create. Of them all, the MMC and the Memovox are my favourites. I'm not a great fan of the reverso because I've never been square watch person, but I certainly appreciate it for it's uniqueness....which is what I think the JLC brand is all about....high precision and unique styling. So tell me, am I mad and alone on this one, or do we have some more JLC fans in here JLC Master compressor Chrono JLC Memovox
  15. I'll join you with a Tag today By-tor;
  16. No this isn't an UPO this one. Not sure which version it is, but it's not the best PO I've seen. I would recommend going for a UPO as a base if you want to add genuine parts, the finished article will be much better
  17. I think we must be on the same wavelength.....there in front of me is a beautiful ROO, and the first thing I noticed was the blue tint
  18. First of all, a big thanks to Hummerboy (RG) for the smooth transaction. Being in the UK too, I had to buy this from the SC! The Review It
  19. Very nice. In my opinion, although it's a reletively small change, it makes a massive difference to the overall look of the watch!
  20. I'd go for the Seamaster gen too. The Seamaster isn't repped very well, and it is an iconic watch. it really is one of those watches you must have in your collection even if you're slightly interested in it. It can be worn with practically anything and is so comfortable. If you want both, you could always get the Quartz SMP (2541) and the rep YM from BK. At the end of the day, the Semaster is genuine, the YM never will be, and the Seamaster is one of those 'must haves' in my opinion. If you're going to treat yourself, treat yourself to the real thing, it'll mean more
  21. Nice write up, having owned both the gen and rep, how would you say the colour of the case holds up? It's really hard to tell from pictures due to variances in lighting.
  22. Great choice. I saw this on TZ and loved the pictures. Equally, I love the watch and the pics you have shared with us, wear it well!
  23. Looks like it's a fantasy model of the B2 or the Hercules
  24. With regard to the dial, it's neither....it has a slightly matte/glossy finish to it, very hard to explain! In some lights it looks like it has a matte sparkle finish to it, then in others it has a very slight sheen to it. It's not matte like a slate blue Avenger dial (see HackR's thread), but it's certainly not glossy like a black garage door either...sorry im not much help there! The ring again isn't pure white, it is a white colour, with a slight 'sparkle' to it in some lighting conditions. As for the measurement, Il have a root around to try and get a tape measure from somewhere
  25. Very interesting! I really like the Skyland dial in the Avenger Chrono case!
