Having not written a review for a long time, I thought I would begin 2010 with a review of a brand that I am most passionate about (Ferrari that is). It seems that the dealers are now stocking a Cal1 with a much more accurate case, which in my opinion was what ruined the look of the older rep for me. The thicker case sides really changed the appearance of the watch, but the thinner sides make it look much ore authentic to my eyes.... GEN REP (OLD) REP (NEW)

I don't see why not. The movements are the based on the same template, so the only thing that might need trimming would be the dial diameter. I haven't ever seen this mod done, but it certainly doesn't mean it isn't possible, perhaps someone else could shed more light on this question.

That would be my guess too. I am currently going through the process of ordering a watch from Tony. Great communication so far, just waiting for a tracking nuber. I know MickyPadge has ordered from him before and has had good results.

A few weeks ago I noticed my SMP Quartz started losing a bit of time, so I sent it off to Domenico for a full service and overhaul, but it was only a dodgy battery that was causing the fluctuations in time. So the battery was replaced, the watch was pressure tested and sent back in a very good time period. I want to give Domenico a massive thank you for sorting the watch out, and I can now get back to enjoying one of my favourite watches of all time. From one Omega fan to another, I agree completely. Sub-dial spacing is completely off (probably based on the A21j?), crown looks like the one that comes on WBK's non-chrono sub too.

I would say the PO is one of the most versatile watches around, and I love them, hence owning more than I have had hot dinners They look great on leather, rubber or bracelet in my opinion; On rubber; On Leather again and on the bracelet

In December, there are a few of us going out to dinner...we're all graduates at the company I work for, but we've labelled it as a 'black tie' event. I have a grey suit (fractionally lighter than charcoal), and I am considering wearing a deep red bow tie with it. Firstly, do you think this is would look ok/be recognised practice? Secondly, should I buy a 'proper' formal shirt that has the collar shaped to fit a bow tie? Thanks everyone!

Congratluations on the purchase, I really miss mine, they're such comfortable and well wearing watches! That's a nice model too, as quite a few of the 'Repetition Minute' versions come with the older styled bracelet, but that was the transitory one, just before the 'Chromometre Aerospace'. Wear it well!

The measurement of the Planet Oceans is to the outside fo the case, rather than the outside of the bezel. If you were to measure across from the 8 o'clock marker to the 2 o'clock marker, 45.5mm isn't the bezel, it's the outside of the case, to the other side of the case, excluding the crown. Hope this makes sense!

Stumbled on this post rather late, but great find all the same Freddy! In my opinion I prefer that the crystal only has AR coating under the cyclops....no AR on a Rolex cystal is how it has been since year 0, and if they start putting AR on ther crystals I think it would take away from that special Rolex characteristic.

Hopefully it's not a serious problem and just a dodgy gear, but the date change stopped working, and the movement jammed when it reached 8pm so it could be something serious.... I know, not having a Breitling in my collection is bordering on blasphemy, especially seeing though like yourself, the tricomapx Navi was what got me into this hobby There is a blue Navi on leather in an AD local to me...I always stop and ponder over that one! Of all the watches out there, I would never have picked the Graham as something you would go for. I wouldn't mind seeing one in the flesh, as I can imagine they have a lot of wrist presence! I think I may have to follow your lead on concentrating on the Breitling's. I am definitely missing a Breitling from my collection. Hey everyone, it feels like forever since I started a topic here...so here goes... Since graduating this year, I have relocated from living on the south coast of the UK, to the midlands. I'm currently renting a two bedroom flat in the centre of town as I'l be moving around a fair bit in the first few years, so buying isn't practical at the moment. I've been checking in on the forums and trying to keep up with the posts, but as most will know, moving areas takes a fair bit of time out of your schedule....but now I'm settled in, I'm hoping to get back with posting more contributive posts...I need some new watches to review!! So onto the watches; I had a few problems with my Rolex GMT Ceramic, which has been sent off for repair and overhaul. I wasn't sure if I was going to like this one at first, but I must say, this is a really nice Rolex. Whilst I love the history behind the Sub/Seadweller, the look of the GMT2c really appeals to me. It has a good balance between being not too flash, whilst not being too understated either. Rolex hit a home run with this one.....Ammandel, I hope yours is still running well and getting lots of wrist time! I am still really liking the Explorer 2 that I bought. It is getting a lot of wrist time, and following By-tors and J.Marins lead, I have sent my black dial away for some work....Il keep you posted on the progress of that one. The Milgauss is still getting some wrist time, and it looks great underneath the shirt cuff. Like the GMT2c, it strikes a great balance. I think alot of it is to do with the polished midlinks, and the brushed outers on the bracelet! My SMP has stopped, so I anticipate it needs a new battery. I certainly won't be sending it to Omega as I know that they like to charge over the odds for a relatively simple job. Once the battery is replaced, I'm going to start work on a small display for it....I've bought the Bond DVD set, which comes in a nice metal briefcase. I just need the diecast Aston Martin now to make a small tribute to the Bond series So there's how my collection currently sits. As above, it's not worth lying about the item, or the value. You will have saved money on the purchase itself by buying from the US, but it is likely that you will be hit with VAT+4.5% for customs duty. However, there is also a chance that it will pass straight through. You could try and value it for $1500 and save a bit, but that will only save you approx $40. If it goes missing then you'll lose out on $200.
