Francisco is not convinced about the graphite treatment and has ceased to offer it. Domi says that the DLC does not work. Either way the movement remains problematic to say the least. For more input read the following: http://repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=69518 In my opinion this watch is so far below acceptable quality standards that it should not be sold by trusted dealers here.

There is a hugely expensive one out now, but it is not clear that it has solved the problems in the previous version. If you really want the Chrono model, the best options remain a second hand gen or the Concepta franken versions. Otherwise I would recommend that you stay away from this one.
-
Never understood gold Hublots. But this one actually looks quite good. Question: Why the slow beat? Has that not proved problematic in the past?
-
This is a nice little story. Not least because the other party knows the gen well. Most people don't. So it illustrates how you can be very relaxed wearing a rep, as long as it is plausible. The AR reps are not 1:1 but excellent and plausible ... if it looks plausible on you, that is.

Gold Rolex. And any watch with diamonds.

Graham Chronofighter ODV1 - wearing a hand grenade

Just received a similar one today. Can only confirm that it looks and feels great. One little nice touch is that mine has no 416 engraved on the back. Seems they individualise the watches. -
I need a pin for the clasp. It's tiny and I have been quoted $100!! Also want a bezel so interested if you find out where and for how much it is available.
-
Red. I think the one you have is correct for the model. It is an old one and I don't think it was ever made with the newer style bracelet.
-
You may take a look at this one: It is still available (I got mine from Timeshops.net) and is very well made. The detailing is excellent (it is really a shame that the case back is not visible when you wear it....), but no doubt it would benefit from re-lume and AR treatment as the one in the review above has had.

I'm tempted to turn the question around: Why would anyone want an automatic movement if the watch has no seconds hand and a closed case back? This model is the perfect quartz watch....only it does not come in quartz. -
Thanks, Lani for this info. Very interesting. I always assumed that gold was light in the colour and that the darkness was due to an alloy. I would be tempted to pick you brain about white gold, steel and rhodium. I have mostly found the difference between white gold and steel marginal, but do like a whiter look than the normal steel. So I thought it might make sense to plate steel with rhodium as I understand that white gold frequently gets that treatment. - But I have never come across rhodium on steel. Why not?

This looks really great. Much better than my cartel version. Are there any plans to make it available with a quartz movement? -
I would not have the nerve to attempt myself. But other than the risk of patchyness, what about the engravings/etchings? Do they survive another plating?
-
I have not had the requirement yet as I am very careful about using my gold plated watches. But it should be possible to re-plate a watch. Any experiences??
-
He does. But I was under the impression that this is in addition to the conventional graphite treatment?? If not, I can understand his sceptisism. The feedback I have seen on movements with graphite treatment has not been very good. I also have one which has had it and which does not seem to function in spite of the treatment. It is on the way back to him and (ever so wishfully....) I hope he will manage to sort it without cutting the gears to the seconds. If he can't, I shall hang myself and jump out from the Empire State building!

Please, Rep factories, GET A PROOF READER!!! -
Let us know how it turns out. The Zigmeister is positive and it sounds plausible. But Domi says no. He is not convinced that it will work. I so much want it to be a solution to the eternal Portu@6 problem....

The WM9 site is up again.

Sorry, and correction. Just checked my old emails and it was s'rep STORE, not SHOP I dealt with. I do not know this entity, and really hope you have found a good one in spite of my previous very negative message. Apoligies. I shall do my homework better next time.

I had my own first scam experience with precisely these guys. Bought 2 watches of which one was really tacky and dead upon arrival, the other not too bad, but had some screws missing. After some emailing back and forth I ended up sending them back. That was about 1 year ago. Since then I have heard nothing from and naturally no watches have been returned. Recommendation: If you do get your watches, keep them whatever you get. As soon as you send them back you will just create a lot of time consuming aggrevation for yourself and most probably loose whatever you had in the first place. I have to add that the site was on Fakey's list before I discovered this and the other fora, so I am not alone with this kind of experience.
-
Hopefully you will get your watches. Even if you paid too much at least you will have something.
-
I may be wrong about this. But I think the lume dot @ 3 was sorted between Ver1 and Ver2. - In which case mine may be a Ver2 as well. Still the main point is that this watch is awsome as it is. Unless you are a totally dedicated nerd (or AD...) you will be hard pressed to spot this one on the wrist. Mine keeps excellent time, I use it to swim with (although I did need to have it greased) and it looks fantastic. Hope you like yours as well.

There are three levels of dealers out there: 1. dealers who are recommended on this and other fora. These are easy to identify and always the best place to start your search for a rep. 2. good dealers who are just not (yet) on the recommended list. Here you are into a more difficult area where your risk is higher, but with good recommendations from other members you may be lucky. Personally I started using watchinternational before she was recognised here, and she is great. And 3. the scammers. These are by far the most numerous and prolific out there. An excellent list (but not comprehensive) is compiled by Fakemaster on RWI. http://www.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/replica-watch-scam-dealer-list-44299.html Swissreplicashop is on that one for a very good reason. Avoid like the plague!! Good luck with your search for a dealer.

I've had a few watches ARed through him, but no Omega. He is a really good guy, but English is not his strongest point. If you are able to communicate in German or Italian that is better. Quality is really good. Unfortunately I do not have a comparison to the work others perform, but here are a couple of other watches I got from him: He does not do the AR himself though. I use him as my general watchsmith and using him for AR saves me having to fiddle with the watch myself (which would most probably turn into a very costly saving in my case.... )
