Question: How To Fix Problem Po W/ Eta Movt
kingkitesurf replied to sgo's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
Maybe the stem is a mm short. Try unscrewing it a tiny bit from the crown and lock it up with locktite. Count the number of turns beforehand -
Fok fok, I just missed a plain Swiss vj23 movement for my DW on Ebay. Rolex_Parts stole the deal for 231 euro inthe last second.... he was live bidding and so was I. I hate ebay.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...A%3AIT&rd=1 Fok Rolex_Parts

Dude I read 2836-2. This is a 28.800 movement ETA. This is a very reliable and good work horse. Where did you get 2838 number from? I don't understand the question I guess. And where do you get the BPH from....?

kingkitesurf replied to RWG Technical's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
Rob, I will try to take a picture of my Expl2 modded 2836-2 GMT movement so you can see the different items. I am really curious what your first impression is on that one... -
New Rollie Gmt Model, Modified Eta 2836-2
kingkitesurf replied to RWG Technical's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
Thanks Zig. Great review. Nice pics. I recently operated mine and I agree with Avitt. I did exactly the same. Lined all hands (inc GMT) up at 12 when datechange took place. GMT is always home time, I think that goes for the gen as well. Furthermore in my Explorer2 the cannon gears are held together with a much better piece than the two bend over metal pieces. With mine (Andrew Expl2) it is a tiny fork overrunning the whole gear set. Further I took the hands of twice and the GMT hand came of without the tube. Maybe there is a difference between 2836-2 GMT emulating movements. The movement has been working fine so far. I took the dial of to paint the hour markers black. -
I posted an article on Stainless a while back and it was put in the knowledge base here om RWG http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=8067

My gun reps are all plastic and bright red... I don't know why they don't work? Faulty chrono perhaps... You are an extreme Rollie addict... Nice collection... Do you get cold turkey when away from this box... That is not a good sign....
-

Where To Find A 20mm Rolex Jubilee Ss Bracelet
kingkitesurf posted a topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
Anybody have a good source for a rep Rolex Jubilee SS 20mm with end links for my GMTII Pepsi from PT....or a gen for a fair price... Cheers -
Ubi, I saw that one indeed... I would really feel sorry to take it apart... better to rip a Nivada or something... This one is a beauty. Do you have any idea which watches carry a v23 swiss. If the owner knows its a v23 and states it on the bay the prices skyrocket... Sometimes you can get lucky and find a watch that people don't know has a v23... Know of any brands? Please PM me?

Thanks! -
Maybe it is not the datewheel that is of center. I had my dial of center on the MBW 1665. Just slightly (1 degree) turned it and reglued it. Everything was fine. Have a look at that first. Look at the 6 and 12 marker as apposed to your endlinks....

Seriously Over Eta Movements
kingkitesurf replied to lionsandtigers's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
Dude, If you look at the hole on the pictorial of Bazz.... You see a rectangle around the pin. Just make sure (like Ubi said) that you have the crown in pulled out position and press a screwdriver in there that is exactly as wide as the rectangle. Just press gently while pulling the crown.... of it goes. Just don't attempt this with a pin which is smaller than the rectangle because no matter how soft you push... the button is pressed and comes loose and you never have enough reaction speed to stop the pressure before it goes under. You really can't go wrong. O hell it's happened anyway... but it is fairly easy to put the keyless work back... Make sure you have the right tools like the hand remover... You saw the Bazz pictorial... Not bad to have them cleaned and services anyway... They will last even longer that way... -

Anyone Have A Good Online Eta Source?
kingkitesurf replied to lionsandtigers's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
Lionsandtigers, It takes a bit of effort to change the datewheel but I did it and I am a beginner. A good source for new ETA's are plenty for around 80 EUR. You can exchange the datewheel... I did. Yes its wider because it is adjusted for the Rolex. But it certainly fits and works of course. You logically have to get the day wheel of the new movement and just replace the datewheel. -
Help I Did A Stupid Thing...:-(
kingkitesurf replied to kingkitesurf's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
To me it happened once and that was beginning of Aug... as you can see with this post... obviously this happens all the time although there is a warning in various posts. I didn't have the patience to wait for the correct screwdriver and used a needle... Luckily I have read the warnings in advance and did not push very hard in trying not to overpush it but you will anyway.... That way you don't bend anything... Use the screwdriver and it is peanuts now. I have by now uncased all my reps a few times. Routine comes very quick. This should be pinned in the repair section indeed.... -
My New Purchase. A Movement Question.
kingkitesurf replied to By-Tor's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
That is very nice... But is the 700 one the real thing? I don't see differences... I am also looking forward to the review. -
He Lions... Bazz directed you to the right place... I had that same thing happen...I didn't have the patience to wait on the right size screwdriver... Used a needle.... That sucked... Bazz helped me out really simple. One more tip before you release the whole dial and hands etc. when you removed the movement from the case you can see in the sideview where the frighing pin sits wrong. i also managed to pop it back in with a tiny needle from the side. Provided that it did not shoot beyond the whole. You can just push the pin sideways with the needle. If you did not push to hard nothing has been bend and it is a rather easy fix...ONCE YOU HAVE DONE IT.... The moment itself will deliver sweatpearls on your upperlip......LOL. You will see with Bazz info it will work out great. Let me know. Cheer Job

Has Anyone Had This Happen With An Ebay Transaction.
kingkitesurf replied to crystalcranium's topic in General Discussion
This is a general warned for trick. They book it back and there is nothing you can do. You loose. Normally they do this from Nigeria... Good that you stay away.. -
The Zigmeister, Does this mean, with tha Asian 7750 new movement, that you don't have seconds running and neither have a functioning chrono...Or can you use the chrono as a second hand if you wish...Cheers
