  1. I am happy to think that in some small way I as well as others helped your quest to achieve this rare beauty. When does the pass around begin Nice get. Enjoy!
  2. No, the order is: Crystal, Retention ring, bezel washer, bezel, insert.
  3. Don't do anything....it should feel exactly that way. The tension washer keeps upward pressure on the bezel so it doesn't accidentily move. You need to put downward presure and turn it to adjust it.
  4. I hate you......not Congrats on a wonderful watch.
  5. Get a good set of digital calipers or analog. Then go to a local watchmaker to order. It seems the only issue I have seen is the retaining ring being about 1/2 mm too big. Of course, pics are mandatory
  6. Worlds apart.......see for yourself Good....more for us that do
  7. Great job Freddy.....I love the issue number...coincidence?..........I think not.
  8. I think our dials are twins as well. Nice and clean with good Patina. Chewie aka Chewbacca says thanks for the kudos.....
  9. I saw one on the bay with a $499.00 buy it now price......hmmm Another Glam shot of the buy if the year: Watchdog? Serene wristie:
  10. All of my watches are real and genuine........watches. I have no problem sharing my obbie with others. Howwever, if and when I see a really bad fake, I know we have nothing in common as I am sure he hasn't heard of RWG
  11. Well, I just returned from my watchmaker. I picked up a new Gen 702 crown and he is trying to locate a 702 tube. I can now say without a doubt that the crown on my watch is not gen. As pointed out the Gen crown shows the cap seams under the crown and the crown on the watch is a solid piece. That being said, the rep crown looks damn good as is. Movement has great amplitude and has been regulated to +3secs/day. I have noticed that the Gen 25-19 crystal fits the case well, but the retention ring isn't as snug to it as the MBW was. Also, upon closer inspection, I have my doubts about the movement. With the exception of the winding bridge all the other surfaces including the main plate looks freshly milled. Heck the ETA cloud stamp is barely visible. I can't imagine that someone would mill down existing plate just to make them shiny. On the bright side, my watchmaker is convinced the dial is Gen (I don't) and he was very impressed with the overall quality of the case and bezel. BTW, my case serial # is 737797 compared to Chris' # 737738. Ther you are. No more clearer today than on Friday. Still, worth every penny in my book.
  12. Nice clean watch. I notice that your watch has the newer Triplock tube with visible external gasket. Anyone else have this set up? Perhaps these are first Generation reps as I mentioned earlier when Chris first showed us his. I bought one of these for around $450.00 from Girard's over at least 6-7 years ago. I sent it back because it didn't keep time very well. This was back before any real high end reps or 1:1 reps were around. To have this type of Gen construction with the correct style case, crystal retention ring and pretty damn nice dial and hands on a period correct movement........it makes you wonder.
  13. My idea of a "Franken" Everything that went to building this watch is genuine Rolex except for the mid case and caseback. Well over $2500.00 into this one and considering that an exact watch (Pointed CG's and Gloss Service dial) sold for $10,000, I think it was worth every penny.
  14. here you go......correct build but I believe the tube is not Gen. No internal splines at it's base visible.
  15. I don't believe the tube is Gen and again, if the crown is aftermarket, I'd buy a bunch if I could.
  16. Well, unlike Chris', mine had no glue on the crystal. So it depends on the luck of the draw. A gen T-19 crystal and Gen Crown/tube is all you really need. Of course, a period corect bracelet goes a long way as well. Snaps some pics and post what you get. It's kinda interesting to see all the iterations from this source.
  17. The dial, wether refinished or not is as good as I have seen. As for the crown, this is the old style Triplock without the external gasket. Based on my experiance, the construction and craftsmanship look gen. If it's not, it is as good as I have seen as well. You be the judge: Crown comparison Dial shots http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l127/fre...7016compare.jpg Comments always welcome.
  18. Freddy, All good points and to be sure, it is keeping great time. I am pretty sure the crown is gen. I'll know shortly if a Gen tube threads in as is.......
  19. Well, I just got my Tudor 7016/0..........all I can say is........Ha! That's right Ha! I am convinced the only Genuine article on or in the watch are a few screws and the winding plate. The base plates and the winding rotor all look to be copies based on the silver-ish appearance and sharp, newly milled edges. I could be wrong. That being said, the case, back and bezel assembly were worth the price for admission. The dial ain't bad either. My Gen spring bars nestled right in snug and tight. My T-39 gen crystal seated quite nicely as well. The Crystal retention ring could have been a bit snugger but it is doing it's job. All in all, I would say this watch would be a great value at $400 - $500. The movement winds and sets nicely and has been spot on for the last 3-4 hours. Now for the Ha! The movement had 1 movement holder and it's screw was rattling around inside the case. I fixed that and promptly installed another. Dirt and lint were everywhere. And there was just gallons of some lube/silicon under the retention ring. Now all cleaned up and ticking along on my wrist. Here are some Non-Pug/Ubi/anyone else who takes great photo.....Pics....enjoy Other pics including movement pics to follow (all were out of focus) Movement:

  21. For an ETA the crown must be in the Time setting (all the way out) position when you remove the stem/crown. A Steady hand and patience is all that is needed.
