  1. Efren and Chinatown, great watches -100.00 bucks. THOSE were the good ol' days. I still wear the Seamaster 300 from Adam, and the unreal FM Casablanca from Efren. They both disappeared within a month of each other. I think it got a bit on the warm side back in NY in early 2005. Great guys, no [censored]. Sorely missed.
  2. I would normally throw in a shot of my rep Nautilus, or my Aquanaut. But after viewing Dempsey's 6263, I decided to forgo my photos and hope that other viewers will BUMP to his beautiful post. Perhaps the most beautiful wrist shot ever.
  3. Add me to this list. Happy Birthday Jen. That guy Rob is sure lucky. All the best.
  4. Gotta bump this thread. Isn't it amazing what we are able to do with the help of a few friends here on our little forum. What a nice watch. Congratulations. Beautiful work. Wear it well.
  5. I own TWO rep Black Seamasters, one with each bracelet style. Beautiful piece, the Seamaster. Love both versions, but they PALE in comparison to your gen. Congratulations on a great deal and a great watch. Your photos did a very nice job of showing the real difference between a quality gen and its rep version, that is, 'Fit and Finish'. Your photos show that remarkably well. There is real luster in the gen case and bracelet. Your photo captured that aura. Nice. Wear it well.
  6. Does anybody know how cold it is... does anybody really care? I was on the track last weekend. It was -3 degrees. I was NOT cold. Ski on dudes.
  7. The regular, 'non chrono' Casablanca is still one of my favorite reps. I purchased it 4 years ago. And it is still, my go to dress watch. IMO the Casablanca is the nicest of the FM line. There are small differences in the numbers on the rep dial, but the case and clasp are spot on to the gen. A beautiful watch. Nice and thin. Buy it.
  8. At the beginning (of collecting) there is a natural inclination to over do it. As time passes and suddenly you own too much stuff, the inclination is to slow down. Remember this mantra....'Quality not Quantity'. And oh yea, BUY that SOH.
  9. Beautiful. Personally I am a Monster guy. But Seiko has a few VERY nice divers. For the price 100-200.00 they are tough to beat. I was unaware that there are 'rep' Seiko's.
  10. SOH is my favorite watch in 2008. Ziggified with the Ocean Racer bracelet, it is a classic.
  11. Used to go to the Ring in the late sixties. The Alfa's were the king of the Ring. Used to love see them Fly. We'd hang out on the Dunlop bridges that crossed over the top of the track, and watch them at 125mph defying gravity. Those were the days. That video of the Vette was very cool. Thanks.
  12. As said, these are two different types of watches IMO. I own the SOH with black dial on the OR strap. THE CLASSIC DIVER. 45/46 mm. NICE!!!!!!!!!!! The BP is a PILOT WATCH. I believe it is 47mm. Comes with the classic pilot leather strap. Also nice. Both reps are supposedly 1.1. Pick the look you like. I am a water guy. You might be a pilot.
  13. Ahh, the good ol' days. I used to play hockey in junior leagues. Goal. NO helmet...No facemask... got the scars to prove it. When ever any kind of fight would break out... the coaches would tear us apart and kick the [censored] out of us...themselves. Ahhh, the memories.
  14. My bride wears reps: Cartier Tank Francias, ladies TAG Link, ladies Cartier Santos, ladies and, most recent Begat 03, ladies w\ fake diamonds. They all look good. When questioned concerning her watches, she always says: My husband likes it...I think it's a fake...
  15. This one for the weekend. Seeing alot of wrist time these days.
  16. We on this forum are EXTREMELY fortunate to have a man like Mr. Z to care for our watches. The past 4 or 5 watches that I have purchased (reps) have all gone to The Zigmeister. The extra money spent to have it serviced, lumed, etc., insures that the piece will most likely run for years. Rob has said often that even the standard Asian 21j, much less bonafide eta's, will perform adequately if properly serviced. Only makes sense to spend the extra money. When spending money on 'Super reps' that cost 4-5 or 600.00 (plus dollars) and not have it serviced is pretty foolish and is still a crap shoot compared with the 200.00 models that might die at any moment. Ziggification turns a good watch into a GREAT one.
  17. Member #'s are an indication of 'School'. New or Old. When the BIG change came to RWG, I was proud to be in the 20's. Enjoying the friendships here at RWG is way more important than how long you have been around. Happy New Year to ALL RWG members. Just remember that if it wasn't for THOMAS we would all still be drifting about the netherworld of watchlove. HAPPY.
  18. All our European friends have the advantage. Party down dudes. It's only 3pm here. Can't wait for midnight. I will be wearing my MBW/MBK PPN and loving it for the 12:00 hour. 2009 will be the best year EVER. Yeah.
  19. We belong to a group of great people. RWG rocks. Glad to be here. All the best to ALL of us in 2009. Happy, happy. Oh yea, resolutions: 1. Work less...play more. 2. Ride even more miles. 3. Be thankful.
  20. 'Swiss' or asian eta, MOST reliable movement, is one serviced by reputable watchsmith. The watches I care about most all go to The Zigmeister.
  21. Beautiful photos, nice strap. I especially like the black and white shot. The BS seems to be PAM like in that it is easily dressed up or down. Wear it well.
