I'm very happy with my current collection, 2008 ...

Nice. -
Bump...this thread. Man oh man there are some nice watches being displayed this weekend. NICE.

PVD??? Franck Muller, doesn't work for me. Gotta be a fantasy watch. Besides it is way to busy a dial. IMO.

How often are you called out about your rep?
jeff g replied to chompawompa's topic in The Breitling Area
Never. I am old. No one cares. I sometimes wonder if anyone ever even notices what watch I am wearing. -
Breitling Skyland Black Steel

Semi brilliant review, I must say. I think it was about a Brietling..but who cares. Nice job boys. This is THE format of the future. The reviews/critiqes on RWG are the BEST of any watch forum...gen..or rep!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!! -
Just got a Begat 03 804/814 for the wife. NOT accurate to gen (like MOST reps) but really nice. The ladies rep Cartier Tank Francias, is still her favorite.

Thanks Thomas, I believe that.

Currently the chance of purchasing a MBK PP rep is pretty sketchy. Paso, who I highly recommend, is tough to get hold of these days, and TTK...well lets just say, good luck. Right now your best bet is to contact the boys, that is, Trusty or Josh. You probably won't find and MBK Nautilus's, but a few select models of the current CN Nautilus offerings are fairly decent. Best bet might be to contact Narikka who might be able to source a genuine MBK rep next time he is in in Bangkok. MBK PP reps aren't cheap by the way, but WELL worth the money. Be patient, its all about the search. I haven't seen any original MBK PPN's, up for sale from any of the general membership lately, but that might be your best chance. But some how I don't think the odds of that happening are very good these days. Good luck. There is good reason that the MBK PPN is so sought after. BEST REP EVER.

VERY nice work. Should definitely be a sticky. I am wearing my rep 5167 Aquanaut you featured in your write up... as I write this, and although as you mentioned, it is far from accurate to the gen...it is, like the classic MBK Nautilus rep...a fabulous watch in fit and finish. PP reps for the most part are as good as they get in the rep community. Thanks for a great thread.

QC is non existent from drop shippers. Period. I too have experienced major problems over the last 5 years of collecting reps. Things have changed. Although I have reps purchased from EL that continue to run without major problems, many of those older TW models had many problems like mis aligned bezels or indices. Is it worth the hassle to try and send them back to a dealer that has never even seen the watch, only to receive another, with a different problem? In truth much of the most recent product is actually better than those pieces available 5 years ago. But ordering from the typical drop shipper is quite simply a crap shoot. Dealers that actually handle product prior to shipping to you, is the only way to go. However even then there is no guarantee that the movement won't crap out in short order. The last three reps that I have ordered, have all gone to The Zigmeister for servicing. That obviously drives the price up dramatically. If you are interested in having a watch that will last for years, rather than months, then that is the price that must be paid. Even 21j Asian movements, much less eta's can be assured of operating for years when properly serviced. Most of the current super reps, that, cost 400.00 to 1000.00, still require servicing to insure longevity. All that being said..my MBK Nautilus that cost 450.00, plus servicing at 200.00, and looks and wears as nicely as the gen selling for 20,000.00, is well worth the cost. You get what you pay for. Pick your dealer, THEN pick your watch.

The update makes me even more envious than the original post. What a great selection of beautiful watches. Your photo of your 063 is unreal. Thanks again, wear them well.

I love this watch. I think that the Aquanaut rep, similar to the MBK Nautilus rep although not 100% accurate to the gen is nevertheless a beautifully made piece. I love the rubber bracelet on this model. The clasp is nicely made, the adjustment is accurate to the 17,000 gen, and I must say that I really feel as though the rubber strap is really comfortable. Owning as many watches and bracelet/strap combos as I do, I really feel that this watch and strap are as nice as they come. The weight of the case and bracelet is really light and easy to wear. I [censored] around with this bracelet while on my wrist far less than many other straps. A big plus as far as I am concerned. Like others posting on this forum, I never really cared for the looks of the Aquanaut all that much, but it grew on me, and now it has become one of my favorites, along with other watches like my PP Nautilus, and Breitling SOH. Good size, great looks, and super comfortable to wear. When purchasing this watch it was spec'd at 40mm, but by my measurement is really closer to 42mm (wide), definitely seems larger than a typical 40mm Rolex case. Looks bigger, and wears bigger. Fits my 6.75'' wrist just fine. There is a reason that Patek Phillipe is considered the finest watch in the world. Not only are the gens superbly made, but they have CLASSIC beauty. The Aquanaut is just another example of that fact. The fact that you can purchase this particular rep for a few hundred bucks is incredible.

I would not hesitate to order the SOH from Trusty. Best available Heritage with the OR strap. Price the same from all dealers at this point as far as I know. Cartel or no, he is trustworthy on this watch.

Small business owner. Graphics artist. Athlete. Pretty old. Watch collector.

The SOH is a great watch. At 45mm is still fits the wrist better than most Pams, IMO. I have had mine for over a year, sent it to The Zigmeister for service, and now I am wearing it with the OR strap. I highly recommend this watch. The newer version with corrected date font and dial lettering with the OR strap from dealers like A/J, for less than 300.00 is a hell of a deal.

Nice find. My father left me a WWII Glashutte chrono when he passed. It was standard issue for german officers in 1930's. I have often thought of sending it to Rob for servicing. I picked it up a year or so ago, shook it a few times, and it began to run. I am quite sure it hasn't worked for 50 years, and yet it still had the juice. One of these days.

After owning the MBW/MBK Nautilus for well over a year, it is still without doubt my favorite watch, inaccurate as it is. I recently viewed the real deal at my local AD, both the 5800, and the 5711, and the one thing I will say is that comparing the gen to the original is an effort in futility. The 5800 has an extraordinary fade in the dial, ,black/gray, and the 5711 in the rose gold, has an unbelievable fade in brown/black, like nothing you have ever seen. NO REP watch could ever come close. It figures, seeing that this rose gold case with leather strap retails here locally at a mere 32,000.00. All that being said, I am very happy to wear my MBK rep on a daily basis. Still the best rep ever, IMO.

Me too. PP needs its own section. Do it.

These three forever. Best of them all (rep of the year 2007) - MBW/MBK PP Nautilus Could be the rep of the year 2008 - Heritage on rubber OR strap Classic of the classic (rep of the decade) - EL IWC 3717 All three of these watches have gone to The Zigmeister for service/lume/etc. All are ETA's. I expect these beauties to last a lifetime. CLASSIC 42 mm Jumbo - MBW/MBK PP Nautilus CLASSIC 45 mm Diver - Breitling Heritage CLASSIC 42 mm Chrono - IWC Pilot Chrono What more could one man ask...if you want to have it last forever...send it to The Zigmeister.

Klink...cybee... Good is life.

Nice Mr. P. I am trying it for a few days. I can always have lance on the wall.
-
Since The Zigmeister's servicing my MBW/MBK, the watch loses No Seconds per day. I find that I rather like having this particualr bracelet a bit on the loose side. Try that. Too tight never works. Your wrist changes sizes. Go looser. Without a doubt the nicest watch in the world.
