I received my new 15300 today. I will post pics asap. The watch is pretty perfect. The AP logo is not correct compared to gen, but nicely done nevertheless. The lume is definitely the ticket. Really nicely done. I don't care one bit about the sapphire case back, because I wear the watch with the dial up. I certainly can't imagine anyone ever asking me to show them the back of the watch in an effort to determine it's authenticity. The 40.5 case size and the 9.5mm thickness are perfect. Sits on my 6.70 in. wrist very well. The bracelet wears very comfortably, not too stiff, although I will probably spend some time oiling it a bit for a more gen like suppleness. Does anyone have experience with sanding a bit of the edge off? Smooth seconds hand motion, not choppy at all. I have waited sometime for this black dial model, and the wait WAS worth it. I now own the three Genta's designs I have always admired. The PP Nautilus, the PP Aquanaut, and now finally the Royal Oak. I think of the AP brand as the epitomey of classic sport design. I am a happy man. Pic's WILL follow.

I just revisited this thread. Dude, you have some very nice watches. I noticed that many of the background looked fairly Euro. Where are you? Did I mention your great collection?

Safari Arrived Today, My Authentic vs. Replica Pictures
jeff g replied to DD GT3 RD's topic in The Audemars Piguet Area
Nice thread. Nice pics of a great watch. Insightful posts. I still rotate many beautiful rep watches on pretty much a daily basis. Even if I had a bunch of dough I would never own as many beautiful gen watches as I do reps. Many on this forum have advocated the principle of quality...not quantity. I agree with that premise, but rotating 10 to 15 nicely crafted reps is only possible for me...because they are reps. 10 to 15 gens of the watches I wear regularly would have cost me in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Certainly not feasible for a guy like me. I am not the least bit concerned about impressing others with which watch I am wearing. 99% of the people on the planet don't even notice. For me it is all about loving a particular timepiece, and the enjoyment of wearing it. Rep or gen. This post is a good example of what I am talking about. In the comparison pics, I find both watches so similar that it amazes me that one costs 400 or 500.00, while the other is 15,000.00 plus. BOTH are equally handsome IMO. The subtle differences (or glaring) are lost for the most part. So often too, wearing a well made rep with a gen strap or bracelet can make all the difference. But as is often said around here...that's just me. I aplaude Mr DD on his good taste. -
Thanks Cougar. Nice photos, beautiful dial. I love the date window.

Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. Wear the hell out of them all...well.

I have been waiting 6 months for the 15300st with a black dial. None of our dealers had this watch available with the black dial until this week. The new model has just been released with a new lume. As stated on this thread, that was what was sorely lacking on the original jumbo models. I should receive the piece soon. I will post photos. I sure hope the wait has been worth it. The 15300 has appealed to me more than the the original RO simply because I prefer a second hand on automatic watches, as well as the slight increase in case size of the jumbo compared to the 15200 makes for a nicer more sporty look on this iconic Genta design, IMO. Waiting for a new watch is so much fun.

Royal Oak 40 Years Exhibition in Singapore....

Nice post thanks. Nice links. For anyone that admires the AP brand, the links showing the time and degree of craftsmanship required to produce these timepieces are priceless. I now own three AP reps, and so wish I could afford the real deal. That being said, I still enjoy looking down at my wrist and admiring the replica of the AP I am wearing. -
The stock market will not crash in 2013. The economy will improve. People are nice. Business is great. Life is wonderful.

Omega Seamaster Professional Reference Guide (Photos + models)

Thanks for the great photos. The new black ceramic is very nice. I wear a 2254.50 with an Omega rubber strap and deployment clasp, and although I have 6 or 7 dive watches the 2254, is still one of my all time favorites. Omega will always be a classic timepiece. -
Just spent the last hour looking at your blog. Very enjoyable. Thank you for your great work.

For groom....Off white linen suit, light blue spread collar, pink/blue club tie, and custom brown/white spectators. Trust me.

One on my wrist and two or three, depending on the length of the trip, in my carry on. Domestic or International. Never had a problem. Would not recommend putting any watch in checked bags...ever.

I remember many years ago...my wife saying to me: 'All your watches look alike'. That is, for the most part they mostly had black dials and ss bracelets. In those days I owned 25 watches. To me, I thought they were all very different. Go figure.

There are no words. Seriously. Really.

Forget the rep crap. Go to the gen shops for the real deal. Wempe. No place better.

My next SMP franken on the way (inspirational photo attached)

I own a beautiful rep of this watch. Gen hands/dial etc. My plan is to replace the movement with gen eta. I wear it with a gen rubber bracelet and gen deployment. I have owned this watch for 10 years, and still think that is a beautiful diver as was ever made. Congratulations on a beautiful piece. Wear it well. -
Date wheel, oh well. Stiff bracelet - a bit of lube and some wear. This rep is as good as it gets for a classic that can never be equaled in class and provenance. Buy it..you'll like it.

Went to a local AD and checked the Transocean + Transocean Chrono
jeff g replied to a topic in The Breitling Area
The non chrono of the gen in a black dial is a f****** beautiful watch. It would be nice if the rep were to come close. The chrono version is way to complicated for a decent rep, IMO. -
Either of these models are absolutely beautiful. The Diver is so nice it is tuff to beat.

Beautiful rep of a beautiful watch...Wear it well.
