  1. Great game...great series...two great teams. Chicago BlackHawks deserved the win.. I am proud to be from Chicago, now if we could get the Cubs to figure it out.
  2. This subject has been discussed on this forum a number of times in the past few years. I too, have been urged not to discuss QC photos with the forum by a number of dealers here. What I find bizarre about the QC issue is that obviously there is no way of determining whether the photo shown the customer will in fact be the watch that is actually shipped by the dealer. So what is the point of asking forum members what they think of a specific photo? The critical eye of members of this forum will always find something wrong with a rep dial. But in fact there can be, and are errors or misalignment issues even with gen watches. IMO buying reps on line is a crap shoot, but then so is buying a gen online. Best bet...go to an AD and study your gen purchase in your hands, and on your wrist. Having that luxury with a rep purchased online will never be the same experience. Spend your dime, take your chances, QC photos or not.
  3. Very nice collection. I am a big AP fan, and you have some beautiful pieces there. Wear them well. Nice photos.
  4. I too own the Aquanaut. Another classic Genta design. I own the model with rubber strap. More casual than the AP RO or the Nautilus. However the Aquanaut with the new ss bracelet is a real beauty. Buy all three.
  5. I own both of these watches. The Nautilus was one of the original MBW's offered some years back. Without a doubt the finest rep I have ever owned, quality wise. The Royal Oak I own is the new version of the jumbo 15300 with improved lume and bracelet. I love this watch as well. I waited over a year for this watch to be made. (Black dial) Both watches are Gerald Genta designs, and both are icon pieces. I am not familiar with the cartel Nautilus models but my feeling is they are probably good watches as well. Out of the box???? I would have to say the Nautilus. I had some issues with my 15300 that required repair to bring it up to speed. However it is now a regular on my wrist. Both of these watches are classic pieces. You can't go wrong.
  6. Made me happy. The more disinformation concerning replica's the better as far as I am concerned. The major swiss makers hate the replica because as time goes on the replica's get better and better. Two of my favorite watches, APRO and APROO Diver are unbelievably good replicas's of a watch that is so difficult to fabricate. I can understand why AP hates the replica so much. The hours and technology that goes into the gens is incredible. What is more incredible is that the replica of watches of this caliber are available at 1/100 the cost of the gen. Bad press concerning reps is GOOD for us.
  7. Pics won't tell the story. My AP RO 15300 had an issue with the crown tube. Sent off to Mike and he figured out the problem, solved it, and now its all good. I was happy to find a watchsmith located in CONUS who does nice work at a fair price, I plan on sending him a few more pieces for some necessary maintenance. Try him, you will like him.....
  8. Sent my AP off to MD2020 for a bit of work. He did a nice job in a short time at a very fair price right here in CONUS. If you have repair or mod's give him a try, I recommend him. Beats the heck out of sending work to Canada, much less back to Asia.
  9. I just spent a few days in Sandefjorid...now up to Lom, and then on to Molde, and...well you know. Welcome back.
  10. Yea right R. Just a few random shots. Did someone say 'Perfect build'...what's new???
  11. Beautiful. Your beautiful collection inspires us all Your Nautilus is a classic. Thanks for the beautiful photos.
  12. Thanks for the nice photos of some beautiful watches. Gen or reps, it is all about what works. I have made the rounds over the last 20 years, and ended up as a Gerald Genta kinda guy. The classic's, IMO.... AP RO (15300) and PP Nautilus, etc. Rolex ends up last on my list.
  13. Without a doubt the best presentation of beautiful watches I have seen here in many years. Congratulations on a beautiful collection and remarkable photo layout.
  14. nice dial for sure, IMO looks best on ss.
  15. Beautiful cases, wonderful collection. Every time my wife views my collection her comment is something like...they all look the same...black dials, ss straps. I suppose she is correct, but like your stach...they all look different to me, and extremely beautiful.. Your AP And Hubolt drawer is awesome. Wear them all well. And your cabinetry skills are incredible.
  16. Will it make any difference which one I recommend? If I had a choice I would buy any of those shown here. The gens of any of these watches would be as much as anyone could possible afford...pick one.
  17. After many years of collecting reps and a few gens I have decided on a few favorites, that work for me, and wonder what you folks think. Of course we all have our favorites. Gens of course have a dedicated following based upon taste, for the most part. But when it comes to reps, all of which are similarly priced, I wonder what you guys think are the nicest reps currently available. Personally I am a Gerald Genta fan. Consequently my fav's consist of the Nautilus, Aquanaut, Seamaster, and (my personal fave)...the AR RO. I wear the black dial 15300 jumbo most of the time, and feel it is the perfect wristwatch. Tell me...what is your favorite watch? Just curious.
