  1. Mm... Slate dial... Not the easiest dial to read, but definitely one of the prettiest!
  2. Great, now I'm seriously considering an X100! In the meantime, it's the Tudor by the pool. Not in the pool, mind, as I don't trust the water-resistance of the thing!

We're spoiled for great how-to's in the last week. I love your progress, bonesey. Are you planning on challenging jmb for the Cheap Ba$tard crown?
  4. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but no, it won't fit. Both the inner and outer diameters of a T22 are too wide for the common rep Datejust, which is what the Trusty 1016 is based on. Your best bet is to find an aftermarket Tropic 19 with a similar profile to either the domed or beveled T22. Then, trim the base by 1-2mm so that the crystal isn't so tall relative to the case. Finally, you will probably still need to trim the crystal's OD to get it to fit within the bezel. The above is also true of MBW/MBK 1016s, from what I know.
  5. It's got the rivets, and it's got the springs within the links. What it doesn't have are correct dimensions i.e. the links are too fat.
  6. Unfortunately, yes. Still a good deal at ~$150, though.
  7. Always place your wager within the space on a roulette table that is labeled "Black":
  8. You could save some money by using a generic-brand bleach next time. Really great work, bonesey. I'd pay a 50% markup on a Sub that nice!
  9. It's franken Rodico, smooshed together from various globs! marco: I love that Cricket, and wish I'd bought one when they were available. I usually say this in jest, but: SELL IT TO MEEEEE...
  10. Heck of a turnout for a Wednesday WC! Hello, old friend:
  11. Return of the King! And he brings... Rodico?
  12. Really nice picture, PowerShot! And welcome to the MC club, asimplefarmer! I couldn't keep this off my wrist for too long: And one of my favorite little details: The refracted T SWISS T.

Wow, that looks nice! I need to hurry up and finish my own linen build, hideous hour marker or not...
  14. Like donerix, my strap is also... by donerix!
  15. I reckon the dial replication looks pretty good from that photo, particularly the fonts on 'ROLEX'. The OPD isn't so hot, but that's far less noticeable. I admit I've done a bit of a 180 on the 216570, which is more than I can say for the Ceramic Sub. I still prefer the black dial, though, on account of the partly blacked-out hands.
  16. You dolts.. It's not just "a paper bag" it's the BLUE Pre-V bag! DUH!!!
  17. Try a Hirsch Mobile. Curved lugs, great build quality, and it fits your description.
  18. Colors are a bit muted compared to the others, but...
  19. One watch for one week. I do miss the variety, to be honest.
  20. Thanks, freddy! Avitt's were early inspirations, as were yours, Ubi's, and vlaletom's remarkably well-photographed 6263. My original thinking was to match the pushers with the pristine-looking crown, so that they all look like replacement units. But I like your suggestions. I'll give the grease treatment a go, and hit the pushers with some fine-grit, so that they don't clash as much with the bezel and case sides.
  21. Would you ever wear a vintage 6239 Daytona as a daily beater? Day 5 with El Peruano:
