  1. Beautiful, thom, but let's see it from the side! Seamaster 300 for me:
  2. Sadly, an administrative law judge found that the manufacturer (Leasure Time Products) was not on the up and up.
  3. Aside from the inner diameter issue, DW really does make the best bezels for the Daytona (and the Tudor 7032, for that matter). I've had the chance to directly compare them with a genuine example, and the engraved fonts on the 300UPH bezel are a very close match. Unfortunately, DW's 200UPH bezel (which comes with the 6265) is not quite as nice--the unserifed 7s are a minor tell. Also, the DW bezel is slightly off when viewed in profile. It is taller than the genuine and, consequently, the upper surface of the DW bezel is more steeply angled. Finally, the gen has a more rounded edge. I don't think that's due to polishing, as the one I examined was not in terrific shape.
  4. And I was just about to guess you'd bought a genuine Paul Newman!
  5. I'm not sure what's to debate. It's just a 19mm springbar: I think you may be thinking about a discussion on the "endlinks" found on newer, automatic, Daytonas with leather straps. These links are held in place by the bezel. The strap itself is still attached with a springbar.
  6. The funny thing is that almost NO ONE buys the red Newman dials. Saving them for last, maybe? I've been searching for an OEM tan ostrich for a year. Last month, I finally found one and snagged it (plus a genuine buckle!) for a good price:
  7. The cheapie 14270 reps are pretty nice, and you can always swap the crown with a gen if the one it comes with is too thick. It's a shame service dials are so rare/expensive now, or a ubiquitous-style franken would be a good option.
  8. Panerai 288K. It's large, elegant (as far as Panerais can be elegant), and an excellent replication. Personally, for a dress chronograph I would go with a first-generation Heuer Carrera, a Rolex 6238, or a Cal.321 Seamaster. Smooth bezels, monochrome dials, and small pump pushers would make them blend well with a suit.
  9. Enjoy your stay at RWG, and do keep some Gravol nearby as you browse the forum! Some of the impure reps here may nauseate you until you vomit.
  10. Gad... The quality of photography is staggering today! For Thursday, I'm going with the Big Black Rad:
  11. Ouch! It's a good thing you don't like Grahams! Maybe you should get one of those mil-spec watch nylon watch bands that cover up? Take care of yourself, n6!
  12. Stop your mouth! You disagree that elegant replica watches would attract each eye in a swarm?
  13. Thanks for the update, R. It makes my current Valjoux 72 headaches seem very small in comparison!
  14. Well, that's a start. These things are like Skittles!
  15. ...but what an ending! Beautiful!
  16. Wow, I think that clasp was engraved using a fingernail!
  17. There was a black 6238 dial on eBay a few months ago that was practically NOS. $30,000 dial for a $268 rep? Rehaut looks OK to me in those pictures, and in the shots I've seen in buyer reviews. (ugoderosa wrote about his 6263 PN on RG.) I would try to source skinnier subdial hands, though.
  18. thogaa: Were you on vacation for a while? Tudor's Day:
  19. Well, that's unfortunate. Especially since there weren't any all-white 6238s.
