Yeah that's the tricky part, isn't it? They aren't cheap. I got really lucky when I got mine.
As for the jubilee, I love them. However I don't quite think it suits the snowflake.
Fortunately he caught it as it slipped off. He couldn't believe it though. He went on to me about how it's the best dive watch in the world and blah blah blah. He was quite pissed off about it actually.
Have to agree with you on the glide lock clasp. A friend of mine has a gen Deep Sea and it fell off his wrist during a dive because sand got into it. Sand!! I mean, come on!!! It's a dive watch for gods sake (an expensive one) and it can't handle a little sand? And now we have this newer, fancier clasp system?
I'll take a flip lock clasp any day of the week over any of the new mechanisms.
Personally always a fan of the bracelet but that Donerix strap is pretty nice too!
BTW, which crystal do you have installed on the watch? Is it an optical illusion or is the cyclops in the wrong spot? Looks like a Tropic 127 instead of a Tropic 125.
Just finished one myself the other day. This was my first sub and I messed it up royally trying to do something with the bezel. Bent it pretty badly. It's been sitting in my tool box ever since (about two years now)
Managed to fix it and get the gen bezel insert mounted. Missing a pearl so I glued in a WO pearl.
So I'm sitting here in the Apple Store with my wife waiting for a genius to take a look at my wife's iPhone and I tried connecting to RWG using tapatalk. Wouldn't let me in. Tried using the iPhone browser and I got redirected to apple.com. Turned off wifi (as I noticed I was connected to Apple Store wifi) and now it's all working.
I wonder why apple's firewalls are blocking RWG?
Good to know.... however I was referring to the movement spacer, not the dial spacer. I need something to secure the movement into the case without resorting to that nasty paste stuff that was used by the original builder.
Thanks everyone! So it is a DG then huh? I searched for pics but none of the DG's I found had that kind of date wheel.
Oh well, you learn something new everyday!
I may take you up on that offer actually. The only other question is, do they make movement spacers for these? This was literally "glued" into the case with this nasty, hard white paste that looks like white out/liquid pen.
I'm sure it's possible, but I am also certain it would cost a heck of a lot for that little part. Better off trying to find the part. Or a whole movement for donor parts.
