In short, the v5 dial is more gen-like but not 1:1 gen! It's up to you to decide which you like better. Be aware that Trusty sells both the Noob and the v5 DSSD .. if you are going to buy a 2nd one, be careful to not buy the same one twice! I wish that BK would re-produce his custom dial effort for the DSSD, like he did for his awesome BK Taiwan Sub .. he corrected the fat markers on his Sub and now it's sooo nice.

The bottom line, with regard to Panerai lume is that there is just so much of it on the dial! That certainly adds to the effect of it being very bright and lasting longer. They must fill those lume canyons with a fire hose.

Genuine TriTech brand Super-Luminova is rated to last 7 or 8 hours. That means you can read it if you are in complete darkness after that amount of time. Of course it will only glow brightly for a short time, and then last for the duration at a much dimmer level. Gen watch makers don't brew up their own luminous material, no matter what lies their marketing departments spoon-feed to you. They buy from makers like TriTech. As a rule of thumb, replica lume glows brightly for a few moments then fades to nothing. If you get anything better than that you are lucky. New rep watches with Super-Luminova glow like a genuine brand watch.

Dealers do not take your watch apart to check for a proper build. What if your gaskets are missing? They could be. You can't know until you check.
