  1. Thank you kindly .. hand-held at sunset.
  2. Duke73 is saying that the threads in the case were damaged on his watch. The case-back had been cross-threaded into the case. The outside of the case would look perfect in this example.
  3. Quite right. I am surprised your watchmaker friend didnt put a daub of application-specific lubricant on the rotor bearing. Don't use just any type of grease on this part! It can run down inside the movement over time and gum up the internals, requiring a strip-down and service.
  4. The forum ate your URL. It doesnt work.
  5. George in Texas and Zigmeister in Canada both are capable of Rolex service
  6. The rotor is rubbing on the case, maybe. Look for wear marks on the case back and the plate of the movement. Was the watch technician using a real Bergeon rolex-type caseback remover? I find it hard to believe you could be using this tool and not get the back off.
  7. Shoot an email to Katt's Watch Repair in the Midwest. He normally has a 1 week turn around and does good work. GKLONER at GMAIL dot COM
  8. Welcome to the forums! Enjoy your new hobby.
  9. The Customs officer is trying to decide if he wants to keep it for himself .. do not rush his decision!
  10. And the 59 dollar "Moon Watch" is not a real chrono. It's small hands record the day and date in case you did not realize.
  11. For your first watch, do you really want to go with the complex chronograph watch? Just FYI these should be fully serviced in order to set them up properly and guarantee years of reliability. The Planet Ocean is a much better "first replica" choice, and accepts genuine parts if you care to make it "more perfect"
  12. Crossed threads on Panerai is very common. Any good watch tech can fix this and chase your threads. This is not a major issue. Don't worry; be happy. Whatever you do, do not send it back to China for a repair for such a tiny problem. While it is great for Dealers to offer this service, some issues are too small to bother with this drastic measure. Tell your dealer what happened and ask for a couple new screws. He will probably ask for a photo of the problem so send it with your initial email. He should drop the screws into the mail at his expense. Then when you get the screws, send your watch head off to the closest trusted watch tech and he'll fix you right up. Where are you located in the World?
  13. The camera in the 4s gained an additional lens element and a new coating technique so it is better. It shows how much a tripod and proper lighting can improve your macro photography. It's the nut behind the wheel that ruins your pics
  14. Yes; it's been corrected for a long time.
  15. The diver's extension (I bet you have not noticed it) makes that kind of shape impossible unless you want to add more links.
  16. About 8 months ago, the factory made a new run of Seawolf reps, but they were sold out after a months or two. Perhaps there will be a third run in the future.
  17. Congrats on our plentiful year! When do you think it will be finally safe to untie your wife?
  18. That looks great. Once the rusted bracelet is in the garbage pail, this job will be complete!
  19. Toumii has it and it needs lume. Heads up.
  20. The two forums I read each have a list of trusted technicians ... its a small list but it exists. All you need to do is say where in the World you are located, and what kind of movement is causing you trouble. Simple as that. I can think of four in North America, one down under, three or four in the EU ...
