  1. Vaccum is a forum-trusted Modder in the Continental US. He has his own area here, if you want to contact him. I think it's "Vac's Mod Shop" or something.. While he has it, I think you would REALLY REALLY like it of he SuperLuminova'd your watch.
  2. Ah .. excuse me, I didn't know that KingWatch has a new web site with much-improved layout and info. Look HERE
  3. For that photo, he's using the flea-sized Yuki bars.
  4. Japanese quartz movements are battery powered, made almost completely of plastic inside and require no maintenance to keep going almost forever. To "fix" a quartz movement, you toss it in the garbage and replace it with a new movement for very little cost. If the watch you like is not available in quartz, the Cartier Ballon Bleu is beautiful as well and come in Quartz for multiple sizes. It has to be perfectly quiet in a room to hear a mechanical watch movement TICK without pressing it up against your ear. Sometimes when my hand is under my pillow I can hear it Mrs King lists this quartz Tank piece, but you'll have to email her for the size. Click this
  5. There are several facets to this answer. Do you prefer to simply change a battery once every 2 years, and require zero maintenance? MANY ladies Gen watches are quartz for this exact reason. Accurate to 15 seconds per year or less. Do you have a natural attraction to the idea of a tiny, precision mechanical heartbeat inside of your watch? This is why some people prefer a timepiece that may gain or lose 15 seconds per day ... There is no right or wrong answer. Ask yourself if a mechanical movement will eventually irritate you. I bought a big Cartier Pasha SeaTimer (SS band. not black rubber) for my Wife, and after initially balking at the size of it, she now loves it. She wears it daily, and the mechanical nature has never bothered her. (because I correct the time once a week for her)
  6. Thanks Mike. I wasn't going to bother typing all that out. When he learns a little more about reps, he'll know that altho "super reps" look very very good on the surface, many times the actual fabrication methods are miles apart from the Gen. This precludes the entire "stolen gen parts" theory.
  7. Very good! It just needs a nice wash to take off the factory dust and fluff Check every screw in the bracelet for tightness before you trust it.
  8. The bezel insert in the v5 sits just a little too high. Yours is exactly the same as mine .. it needs 0.5-1mm shaved off the underside of the insert so that it becomes recessed beneath the bezel outer ring and the pearl needs a tiny drop of clear epoxy to make it domed. I should have done this a few months ago when my insert fell out on it's own but now it's securely glued back into place.
  9. That is a patently ridiculous statement. So inane, that I might expect it to be a completely sarcastic joke. Please admit you are joking? (or very drunk) If the steering wheel for your new car comes off in your hands ... is that not poor QC? Or is driving off the cliff, screaming with your family all your own fault for pulling off the steering wheel like a dolt?
  10. I don't know how but the latest version of Firefox is auto-resizing all the oversized images for me automatically. I had no idea what you jokers were on about until I noticed that he posted 5200 pixel wide images.
  11. Adorable! But what did you do to the DSSD to mod it? I see that it's lumed but the insert, pearl, and everything else look stock for a v5 model.
  12. Many watches with an asian 7750 movement also have a date window problem. When you look into the date window, and see the date wheel is deep in there .. not flush with the back of the dial .. it's called a sunken date wheel.
  13. ExtraExtra: Chinese ETA clones are better and better every day. ETA will cut their own throat when they withhold their movements from the OEM and 3rd parties. Every time I see a clone ETA movement, one more "tell" that it's false has been resolved. Now I'm seeing clones with the proper number of reversing wheel holes.
  14. If you remove the stem while it's in the wrong position, the little lever in the keyless works gets dragged out of place and the stem will no longer lock in. It's SO simple to reset a keyless works ... the hard part is getting to the keyless works and then re-assembling everything without damaging the hands and the dial ... ugh.
  15. I've only seen perhaps 2 other people mention that they are women. The topic generally does not come up .. they just talk about watches, not what type of naughty bits they have Oh, and Welcome!
  16. The famous 4th generation PO 42mm rep accepts all genuine parts. Yes. That's why it's famous.
  17. Cape Cod cloth is not only a polish/cleaner but it is also abrasive. It will take your spot off, I am certain.
  18. That last pic is a beautiful example of how the inside of the "o" in comex should be square, not round
  19. edit: Never post at 01:00 GMT during Server maintenance ... triple post!
  20. Lets start at the beginning Forum member bklm123 (BK) is the official dealer for WM9 factory for "Forum People" .. George at WM9 hates Forum People because they are too picky/crazy and so he lets BK handle orders and sales for Forum People. On top of this, BK further refines the WM9 watches with gen parts, and subtle casework to improve them .. for an extra fee, of course. In addition to his work with WM9, BK also purchases NoobFactory watches, then mods them with improvements, and re-sells them. ok? I'm not a Rolex sub expert but I do know that the WM9 sub is the current best replication out there, and that the NoobFactory sub comes in at 2nd place for a lot less money. Add about $200 to the price of a NoobMariner for mod work and you have a very nice watch indeed.
  21. How would your precious wristwatch look covered in rust?! Not so good, I would imagine. So happy 97th, Stainless Steel
