They may or may not be a scam site, but as I said, the simple fact that they claim the suits are "MADE: ITALY" is a lie .. so why trust them? One of the old members here claimed to own a tailor shop in London, and stated that even the Gen designer label suits are really made of no more than $50 of materials, and sonic-welded by machines in a factory. Food for thought.
That's easy .. the J12 is the most popular ladies rep and almost everyone carries them.
Watch-International's Chanel section
note: DO NOT BUY FROM WI's WEB SITE .. the web site has the "retail prices" listed. If you email them with the watch you decide upon, and tell them you are a member on RWG you might get a lower price quote.
Black ceramic ladies quartz model
I know nothing about case design facts, but I do know that a 40yr old watch in close-to NOS condition is probably complete BS
This piece looks like it's 1 yr old or less, and worn semi-daily. Just light rub marks .
The crown on my DSSD screws down exactly 1/2 turn more now, 1 year after it was new.
My question is .. is that normal gasket settling OR is there an issue with the gaskets that needs to be addressed. I do get this watch thoroughly wet multiple times a week. It's my beater.
The cartel twins have a new classic Explorer II 1655 "1:1 from gen" funny story .. it looks like the person who supplied the gen to Josh passed him a franken with a vietnamese dial, so the 1:1 rep looks like a gen with a rep dial in it Nice watch, otherwise, and if you dont mind an a21j in it, the cheapest version is only a breath over $120 USD ..
Gen left, rep right
Maybe you can start the buzz and coin the phrase! When I started calling the vendor "Eurotimez" "ETz" after a few months other people started doing that and now I see it a lot .. so go ahead and start 5th gen as the name for this watch .. you never know!! LOL
Rolex does not put any AR coating on their tool watches. The GMT II has a small spot of AR coating under the cyclops but that's all. If you want to AR your DSSD crystal that's up to you.
Watches can be battery quartz, hand-wound or "Automatic" (self winding) ...
This is different for every watch you buy. Just read what the vendor says in his description.
If you work at a desk and do not move around very much during the day, even Automatic watches can run out of power in a day! No arms swinging = no power.
"Aged" 1950s come up for sale here frequently, but the PAM owners on the board really love to mod their watches .. so the ones for sale here normally cost a bundle of cash.
Look at it this way ... someone has bought a stock rep watch, sent it to a Modder, given them a LOT of money to make it better ... and then sold it to you at a LOSS .. so it really is a marvelous deal, even when they are expensive. If it cost them $650 total .. and they sell it on for $500 .. that's a nice deal for you if you think about it.
I am not a PAM collector but on the common ETA movements, it's easy to tell a clone from a genuine ETA movement @ the shock mount. ETA cuts 3 release grooves into the shock mount and the Chinese were lazy and only cut 1 shock spring release groove into the balance staff area
It was supposed to be out months ago, but I think the Ploprof release ruined it's schedule.
BTW the UPO is just a name the Dealers use to describe an Omega Planet Ocean from a certain factory. UPO doesn't mean "all 45mm PO watches", and "PO" doesn't mean "all 42mm PO watches"
Both 45mm and 42mm watches are POs .. but the UPO comes from one specific replica factory.
For instance, Narikaa sells both the 42mm watch and the 45mm watch. But his 45mm PO watch "special" is not the UPO.
To all the new guys watching this thread .. there are a few 42mm POs out right now .. but we're waiting for the latest and greatest to arrive. It won't be cheap.
If you want to try one on for size then Narikaa's "POrikaa" 42mm is one of the best "value watches" out there at around 100USD. It won't take genuine parts but if you just want a nice 42mm PO then you don't have to splash out 300usd for one.
Hm! I thought the currently available rep wave dial SMP was only a picture of waves, not real waves. AFAIK only the older rep SMP wave dials had real waves.
Please be sure to place thread locking liquid on the B&R strap tube screws ... if you don't, you will lose them all within 1 month.
Guaranteed.
The DSSD looks great. It has a nice domed pearl, the hour marker rings are almost thin enough .. the bezel insert looks to be at a very good depth and the engravings look like they are positioned very well.
edit: you know what ... I take that back. The hour marker rings look really good. Not the fat markers stolen from Submariner reps that some DSSDs use.
chronoluvvv .. that leather strap transforms the Flying B from an ostentatious big-ballers' wrist plea into something entirely else .. you really nailed it with this combo. It's .. ethereal
