I am by no means an expert on the 7750 but I believe they are dimensionally identical. DW removes the winding bridge and the counterweight, in order to simulate a hand-wound movement, right? Thinking about this, I do recognize that everything is more expensive in the UK, since retailers use USA price points but add the UKP symbol at the end instead of a dollar sign. Something selling for 100 USD sells for 100 UKP over there ... 50% more. So maybe your watch maker is charging you a fair English rate. Have you considered hiring a forum-trusted EU watchsmith to service this piece?
