Welcome Home after an Extended Visit with Marlin!
Jkay replied to mitchbaria's topic in General Discussion
It's great! One thing tho; unless invited to do so, try not to use real names on the forum. Edit the post? -

So much for the famous "white paint mod" .. what a surprise; the genuine platinum numerals are platinum colored.
-
Insults? Nice .. Here's one for you --> "BMW seems to have become the go-to car for backwards-hat-wearing douche bags" Enjoy.
-
if you google panerai radiomir GMT .. it says that right on the dial .. you get "421"

So you want to get the most from this forum? It's easy; read this

My new toy for future PAM builds arrived today...
Jkay replied to marlin22's topic in The Panerai Area
Marlin, Im sure you know what Delrin is .. it's a very tough but non-marking plastic that is used to make jigs for holding parts without damaging them. You want to buy some and use it for your fixtures. -
One more vintage PP for the collection...

Hi folks. I post this once or twice a year ... you come in here looking for info but you're not familiar with the layout of the place, and it seems like a big maze. Maybe you find a sub-section you are looking for and start reading .. but consider this: almost everyone comes here looking for one thing, but if you only look for one thing, you'll never know about some amazing off-brand or model you'd never heard of. In short, you don't know what you don't know! How can you look at everything people are talking about, without trolling through every forum? the View New Posts button! If you click it, it will show you every topic posted today, or the last week .. You don't have to navigate the forum, and you are instantly shown what is a hot topic of conversation. It's in the upper right corner of the screen .. try it!

Best AP ROO Panda+Navy replica? + AP Weight Question
Jkay replied to kicks's topic in The Audemars Piguet Area
higher quality stainless steel and titanium replicas are close to the genuine weights. if you are paying $80 or less for a watch, you're going to have a bad time but the better watches closely approximate the real thing. -
Puretime has been down for quite a while. The hard drive in their server failed, and they have no backups. They have to re-build it but they are hoping a forensic HDD analyst can recover the data, first. Trusty Time and Perfect Clones are business partners, who share everything. If one is down, the other will be as well.

I just noticed that the site requires COMMAS in the dollar amount, not decimal points. If you get an error, check for your comma.

Ghost, the forum has been back on PayPal for a week or so.

The VCO replica has been around for several years, now, with 3 or more different versions. Mine is an older model. Let me look around on Perfect Clones and see what you are talking about. edit: their model is just like mine but with the new, better lume. Don't be fooled by the art department at VC .. the dial is cream colored, not silver like the advertisement photo.

The replica and the genuine ...

My wife works near the top of the biggest Ins company .. she wears either the Rolex GMT IIc, the Vacheron Constantin Overseas white dial, or the Ulysse Nardin Diver white dimple dial.

Sead @ SuperMirrors has supplied his "Mini Fiddy" to the community for years. Shoot him an email. -
The trickiest part would be pulling off then re-pressing the hands. Then making sure no fingerprints or dust are on the dial or inside the crystal's face.

The high cannon pin from your current a21j (if there is one) will serve nicely in the new movement. The broken date mechanism does not affect this, at all.
-
As you can probably tell, these link is supposed to be pressed-fit ... I suppose your pins were not knurled properly, and they became loose. Epoxy?
-
I believe that both Trusty Time and Perfect Clones have had an argument with the NoobFactory and don't carry their pieces anymore. N-Factory DSSDs have a correctly curved triangle @ 12 on the ceramic bezel insert.

It is common practice for a trusted dealer to take 3 months to turn around a repair. A lot of that is mail delivery. Normally, I recommend that the buyer accepts reality and sends the watch to a trusted watch technician in their home country. It's safer, and a better choice. "FREE" is not always best.

Buying a used luxury car ... is a mixed bag. Yes you get a $100,000 car for $30,000 .. but the factory makes it's money from you on the back end, in huge charges for parts. If you feel good about turning a wrench, then YES it's a good idea. If you are going to rely on the dealership for service then prepare to be mega raped.
