Yes. I understand that the hardest part of buying a watch is waiting for the package to arrive. You're hitting the TRACK button every ten minutes, going mental. I promise it's going to be OK tho US Customs is where it's headed. There is no Chinese Customs for outbound packages. For more timely information you can try to go to the USPS tracking web site, and enter your EMS number there. Once USPS has possession of the package, they will scan it at every depot.

The Katt is trusted and highly regarded .. on RWI Forum. He is not as bogged down as some modders, so you do not have to wait for months. His sub-forum is full of rave reviews, and I have personally used his services three times. Shoot him an email on GKLONER at GMAIL dot COM No 7750 movements .. anything else is fair game.
-
You're very welcome. You can visit their sub-forums and look at their work. Just remember .. be patient and don't go crazy during the long wait time! Vaccum had my Tag 500m for almost three months.

I am glad you have re-discovered and re-introduced the very respected WM9 factory Yacht Master. It is good to see it again.

OK that's going to have to go to Vaccum in Florida or George in Texas. George is a straight-up watch technician who specializes in 7750 and Vac is a tech/modder who does first-class lume work as well as servicing. Both of these people have a two to three month backlog, so be patient if you send it out to them. Modders who have to answer piles of follow-up mail don't get actual work done. VACLUME@GMAIL.COM or MeFixWatch4U@yahoo.com Both these guys have their own sub-forums .. Vaccum's is Vac's Modification Shop here on RWG, and George runs 14060 or 16610? Watch Repair over on the RWI replica forum.

Is it a chronograph or a normal 3-handed watch like a Submariner? There are a few watchsmiths in North America. Some will accept chronographs and others will not.

How do I find DSN on the internet, Mickey?

Many watch repair shops are afraid to touch replica watches, believing them all to be shoddy junk. That is because it used to be true! For a few years now, replicas have become increasingly gen-like and can come with actual Swiss ETA or Swiss Selitta movements. The replica watch forums maintain a stable of trusted watch repair people. Some are heavily loaded with work and can take 2 months to turn a watch around, and others can normally get you sorted in a week. Where in the World are you, so we can suggest the closest watch modder or repair technician.

As a replica watch arrives, the movement inside is not "factory fresh." It is either used or has been stored for an extended period in a non-sanitary factory environment. All mechanical watches require a complete dis-assembly, cleaning, examination for worn parts, re-oiling (in the proper amounts!!) and final assembly, and testing for water tightness every five years Why? The oil inside every mechanical watch slowly evaporates and turns to gum over time, if you use it or if you do not use it. This does not matter. Now, knowing the replica watch you just bought has a dirty or dry or possibly over-oiled movement your first job is to protect your investment and have it serviced. When that is done, you will have a watch which keeps excellent time and is good to go for another 5 years. Modding is done by a skilled craftsman who can do any number of things to a watch. Scrape off the poor Chinese luminous material and replace it with genuine Swiss lume. Re-shape the basic case of the watch to make it appear more genuine. Add swiss-quality anti-reflective coatings to the watch crystal. Remove Chinese parts and replace them with genuine parts from the actual watch the replica is trying to emulate, like dials, hands, straps .. etc ..

Well there has to be some kind of reward for going to Thailand to get reps for us.

The time it takes for EMS to deliver a package to you really doesnt have anything to do with the dealer you use. EMS is special air courier .. it is international express mail, signature delivery. The best time I have ever seen was 5 working days to my door. Shipped on Monday and arrived on Saturday. Customs delays can be hell tho .. EMS has no control over the Customs process, and once they held my stuff for 9 additional days in Customs. I guess it fell under a desk and it took almost 2 weeks for a janitor to sweep it out. Once the USPS gets the package, it is treated as if it was USPS Express Overnight mail. At least that is how they are supposed to treat it.

Email is how you contact him. The email address you used to set your appointment is the one you need. Tell his secretary you didn't receive your package.

Really. Such a small boutique maker ... what a waste of energy. It's as if McDonalds seized one street vendor's hot dog cart and declared victory

What to think - me using vintage dive watches and gear- is it safe ?

Thanks, bub. Thats 100% hand-crafted art. -
r3zn: theres another layer of complication here ... Contraband. It's not exactly like regular eBay sales.
-
There should be discreet RWG "calling cards" you could hand to someone who is wearing an embarrassing replica and can afford better.

If you are in north america, WBK carries the 42mm PO beginner model, too, for $120 shipped. He works from the USA.

He probably felt he already had enough forums and dropped one. It was not due to complaints.
