If I may suggest: people in the EU are not offering names of good watch makers for 7750 because you have asked for help in a "hello" topic. If you make a new topic titled "help with 7750 repair in EU" I am sure many people will offer names.

Are you certain that your dlc coating is not marked with metal. Try to rub a spot with your moistened finger, and the shiny speck should come off. Since the dlc is so tough, pieces of metal get stuck to it when you crash your watch into metal.

Funny; when the original green MG came out, the factory used that "green gasket" trick to simulate the green ring. People complained it was a cheap trick, so they stopped and used green sapphire crystals. It just shows that you can't please everyone, and some folks really like the way a green gasket makes the watch appear.

While many people will chime in here to say "I have had my rep 7750 for 15 years and never even wound it once and it makes me breakfast" and other crap, the sad fact is that this is a very complicated piece of machinery, and it comes from the Asian factories dirty and poorly oiled. You must factor in the cost of a full service when you see the cost of the 7750 watch on the web site. Why would you throw your money away on a watch that needs service by NOT servicing it? Now the OP has a very expensive wristband shaped like a watch.

No, the difference is that sapphire can not be scratched by anything but a diamond. Glass crystals can be scratched. It's not "bad" ... Every common watch crystal out there is mineral. Seiko, Timex etc etc. Including your Casio Oceanus.
