BTW. In order to tighten the fit between the post and the cannon pinion, I cut a small 1x1 cm piece of double sided tape (you could use regular scotch tape), placed it on top of the post, then shoved the canon pinion down the post. The tape filled the gap between the post and the canon pinion for a snug fit. The movement is working normally now.

ChiMan/LHOOQ: I purchased this Blancpain FF dial from RWI 3 years ago when I first joined the rep forums. Any clues on the provenance of this dial? It has "T<25 MC" text at the 25-minute mark.

Wow! A first for modding 2nd gen 'Dirks'. Your talent knows no bounds sir.

I have a feeling 2013 will be epic. Keeping the faith Mr. H!

The Force is strong in this one.

I had this same problem today - slipping cannon pinion. It almost drove me crazy trying to figure out what was wrong. This post helped. I ended up disassembling my watch, removing the cannon pinion and put a piece of rodico on the post just to confirm it was actually moving. It was.

Pickup the 61D, then make yourself a 40B and maybe a Slob
mir36 replied to mir36's topic in The Panerai Area
Thanks for the nice words folks. @ Mapman, the CG is the stock one from the 61D. Hope these shots help you: I'm still working on my Slob, but hope to finish it tonight and post some pics. -
After seeing w0lf's post I promptly ordered a 61D from a TD. I Received the watch today and finally built myself the 40B I've always wanted. First, some quick pics of the 61D's components (I'm sure our resident experts will come along and do a proper shoot of these soon enough ): The dial compared to an old school El dial. The 61D has a very subtle brown hue and off-white indices: The crown looks comparable to a Ti T48: The case looks similar to a Kuvarsit v2: Now on to my 40B. Nothing revolutionary here, I'm just happy to finally have one: No surprises in the parts list: Case set: Hfact 61D Dial: FishGoDeep Hands: FishGoDeep v1 Movement: Swiss w/ H3 flattened Caseback: Jakob Strap: Simona Bruno v1 Finally, I really like the 61D's dial and decided to use it for a simplified Slob build (no plexi, brass ring, Ti lever for now). I know the proper way of doing this is to use the old school El dial. However, I really like how the 61D's dial indices are more off-white as opposed to the El indices which have a greenish tint. Thanks for looking.

H-Factory releases two Tobacco dial classics: PAM61D and PAM56C destro
mir36 replied to w0lf's topic in The Panerai Area
Received mine today. Here's what the dial looks like compared to an old school El: I'm pretty happy with the quality, but will open it up shortly to check off 2 models from my build list. -

Thanks Wolf. I'm getting myself a 61D. Worst case, I can use the parts to build myself the 40B I've always wanted. -
A vintage 4-liner. A must in any collection. If you want thinner indices, get a DSN dial. Still no serifs, but live with it.
-
Patiently saving funds while Mr. H perfects his project.
-
If you don't have access to FGD dials, then I would really recommend going with DSN's. They're not that bad for $280. If you're willing to spend three times that... then it's best to check out the sales forums for watches and parts... Here are mine... and a new project:
-
That's an inspiring build. Hoping to do the same with a case I purchased from vlydog. Congratulations!
-
1675 and strap are nice. But the photography is great!
-
BTW, the 6152 LPMM link in my sig is a re-shaped DSN no-CG case. I think your re-shaped Jackson looks alot better. Which Jackson stock number is this (MM##)?
-
Nice! Didn't even know this existed. Actually it looks good even without a re-shape. But your aggressive re-shape rocks!

Aeromatic's franken 6538 is one of my favorite builds here on RWG. It inspired countless similar projects but was never equalled.
