  1. Very nice! Did you do any re-shaping on the River case?
  2. @ dbane, since these dials are in a class all to themselves and will no longer be made by 'he who shall not be named' Is there any other 6538 dial on the market that is worthy of putting into a phong/1030 build?
  3. Going gen too. Treated myself to a birth year 5513, and after a few months it just didn't click with me and I sold it. Treating myself to a gen SD 4000 for my bday this year
  4. This is a masterclass. Absolutely sublime build. I'll be coming back to this thread very often
  5. I learned so much from this teardown review. Amazing! Thanks for sharing this.
  6. Very nice! Could you please share the specs? Are these builds or from old school dealers?
  7. Works for those who really dive with their PAMs. Although I'd rather go with a NATO.
  8. My xmas wish list: 1x non matching 201/a 1x non-matching 202/a And please do another 082 run!
  9. Looks beautiful. I missed out on the 082 dial
  10. Projectologist has a tutorial on refinishing CGs somewhere. PM him.
  11. Sorry moved the wrist pic. Here it is again. And a movement shot too...
  12. My Ti trio: PreA 40B, PreA 55C and of course the 36. Hope to have more Ti models in the future.
  13. It's a grey rainy day today where I am. It's difficult to capture the tobacco-ness of the dial with my iPhone. Paired it with a box stitch cognac Toscana. Thanks for looking!
  14. I set aside some time this evening to put together the 036. It's been awhile since I have taken out my tools. I was pretty excited. First up, I wanted to replace the unfinished gears in my Swiss DSN movement. So I took some Asian gears and did some extra polishing on the bevelled gears with my dremel and green paste. Gears installed. Next I installed the H3 cannon pinion. My only regret is that I didn't spend more time flattening the top. It looked ok at the time. I'm sure my OCD will drive me to redo it later. Dial installed. I have to say the dial is very nice. My iPhone pics don't do it any justice. You can see the perfect fit in this profile pic. Hands installed. I tried to capture the finish of the dial with this shot. Test fitting in case. I still need to trim the stem on the gen crown. Crown stem properly sized. Added silicone grease to the o-rings on the crown and case. Cased. More pictures to follow tomorrow. Hopefully I can get some good shots in natural light. Thanks for looking.
  15. I'm pretty excited S! Thanks again to you and Rolli for bringing this to the community. This is an Hfact 177 case. I have two Hfact 061 cases on existing builds. As far as I can tell, the 177 and 061 cases are the same, except of course for the AR'd crystal and rollerball lever on the 177. I picked up the 177 case a couple of weeks back in anticipation of this build. What I was pleasantly surprised to find today in my movement box though is this: An old school swiss movement with DSN foils. Forgot I had this. This will do until Rolli brings his engraved bridges to the community!
  16. I have to admit it. When I saw Rolli's pics, I loved the OEM build quality and attention to detail. However, I had a lingering question in the back of my mind. The answer came in the mail today. It's tobacco baby! Excuse the small piece of dust and the iPhone pics. Thank you Rolf and Simon! It's building season again!
  17. Always love seeing your Big Crown Mr. CC!
  18. I'm sold on the case set. What do the experts think about the dial which comes with the 6538 project kit? I missed out on CC's 'legendary' 6538 project dial.
  19. Is glueing in the insert onto the bezel normal practice? I ask because the insert fell off my 5517 (pic below in happier times), and I lost it. Sucks because it was a perfect friction fit to my bezel, and I never used glue to secure it. I bought a replacement off the Bay (not from W.S.O) and it sits a bit loosely on the bezel (slightly smaller outer diameter) and keeps falling off. Is glue used to secure inserts in gen vintage Rollie's?
  20. Awesome! I have a feeling you've inspired a few folks to embark on similar builds. You've inspired me!
