  1. ditto on thick case. Also, get gen hands, which is 99.9% the only good reason why you would ever get a gen movement in the first place.
  2. the only problem I see is how to "cover the parts you don't want. for that, maybe you can hit some "painter's forum" or custom modding bike forum etc etc.
  3. Bronze 6152 homage The rest are in this site http://panerai.watchprosite.com/show-forumpost/fi-717/pi-4494048/ti-696568/s-0/ Let's just say the 6152 just became my new grail =D
  4. looks good to me...except the first 1680 case, which the CG looks off. Other than that, you have to decide for yourself on the dials since you would need macros to compare fonts. From my point of view, the hands, insert and dial looks genuine.
  5. contagion hahahaha... I will never wear a steve mcqueen explorer!!! subs +daytonas ftw. OT: nice collection you got there XD!!
  6. it doesn't look like a 702 tube. A gen 702 tube doesn't have a rubber gasket on the outside; There's 2 gaskets inside, and one on the crown, making it trip lock.
  7. yea, lack of crimping on the bottom, which would be 100% wrong for the watch whether it's gen or not. Anyways, the top of the crown looks wobbly in your pic for some reason.
  8. ohh.. thanks. maybe you could use a 1601 case for a 1016.
  9. I didn't know you could use a gen 1500 case for this project... what tropic did you use?
  10. need more scratches.... just kidding. Actually, there was a thread once that compared all the dials, which concluded that ingod44 was the best of the bunch.
  11. vintage rolex forums, or this place vintage rolex forum (VRF) or this place... or the "buy it now buttons" in ebay
  12. if you want it for less than $80... it's ebaying time! =( you'd need a 703 crown You also need a caseback tool.. good luck.
  13. pheww.. I got lucky then =D. I just took a look at my own parts. I am hoarding parts as well. This is my 702 and 703 side by side. And this is the 702 tube I got from marsupilami vs gen (which doesn't fit anymore)- gen is the dirtier one and the one with the thicker inner diameter (left on the second pic I think) And why not experiment with photography while I'm at it..my wm9s.
  14. ohh that's why the bottom bezel looks like it's machined..thanks
  15. woow.. the rehaut looks perfect for a 5513 project imo. what's the case size?
  16. how can you tell if it's aftermarket? is it the engraving?... I can tell if vintage ones is aftermarket if I look at the bottom bevel, which should have machining marks.
  17. I was bidding the one till $180... >.<!! want to buy a pad printer system first.
  18. well, I thought that a 16800 is similar to a 16610, and the only difference is the type of steel used for the case. So you need to start looking for a 16610 case since a 16800 case is difficult, if not impossible to find. Correct me if I'm wrong, but a 5513 case is 39.5mm whereas a 16610 case is 40mm in diameter. So you might have a problem of fitting it a crystal etc etc, if you use a 5513 case as a base. Might as well buy a TW best case from BK, drill the holes, change the insert. However, I would ask BK if gen movement would fit or if not you can send it to JMB to mill it. hope that helps.
  19. ohh it's one of the newer models. I have no idea what they look like lol.
  20. I think it's a v1. The rehaut exactly looks like my v2 =)
  21. the asian movement one is $40 for the noobmariner new >.> but a copy eta is worth somewhat more I guess
  22. something is fishy, avoid this seller... the first two pictures are different than the rest of your pictures. Notice that the first two are rounded "S" submariner and the rest are flat "s" subs... ??? IF I were to guess. The first 2 area probably noobmariners, the rest look like wm9 v1s with a decent good crown.
