  1. Two earrings since 1968, in my right ear (for cying out loud)...
  2. I have had my Pam 092 Arktos Ultimate for some time now. Though it has advantages over the old model, it also has flaws (terrible CG, flimsy bezel...). Here's what I did: CG from the old Arktos onto the new (had to swap levers) and (best of all) got rid of the rubber strap and mounted a BOB gator. The strap was originally tobacco brown, I dyed it black. What a difference. Quick wrist:: Light Box: What think you? Cheers. PS.: there's still the flimsy bezel, what can I do?
  3. Oops, didn't know that. Still, the day/date wheels; I hope they are better than the ones on my 3717...
  4. Josh has it on his site now, available in two weeks, he claims. It's looking good, but it has a misaligned day/date problem and the day/date fonts are not very strong, as far as I can see from the pictures on his site. So it's on to Cousins' once again for new wheels...
  5. That's not Harry Potter, it's Elijah Wood (correct me if I'm wrong, guys), so it's Mr. Frodo Baggins we are looking at I can imagine Ian McKellen (Gandalf) being glad for this picture ...
  6. Yeah, great review and nice pictures. Thanks mate
  7. You are absoloutely right, Pugwash, of course you are . I swapped the 4200rpm/40Gb Hitachi that came with my R40 with a Seagate 7200rpm/100Gb HDD. Initially it did make slightly more noise (or maybe different kind of noise, more distinct), but it's hardly noticeable any more, I've gotten used to it. Heat is the same but power consumption seems to be lower, battery charge is about half an hour more. Maybe I was lucky. Start up time and general handling, still one year after, is remarkably faster.
  8. Sounds good, phaedo. You might even consider getting yourself a faster (and bigger) new hard drive. Together with more ram it did the job on my old R40 ThinkPad...
  9. Woh fj0, if you don't know how to locate the hair spring or to open the watch, you better don't try. You'll mess up the watch , believe you me (I've been there... )... Cheers, Volker
  10. Thanks TT, much appreciated. Now I'm off to work, getting my mind on something else...
  11. Yeah... what buggers me most, is that I haven't been able to be with her on that trip.
  12. My darling wife just arrived in Mobile Alabama for her father's funeral (I'm home with the kids and taking care of my f*****g job). It took her 24 hours to get there from Copenhagen, via Paris France and Atlanta, taking into account delays and missed connections, can you believe that? I have hardly closed an eye all night , not to mention her, she hasn't slept either...I miss her
  13. Wow, that was my 100th posting
  14. It's kind of 'nick-nack' they throw at you in accessory shops, nothing else. It has some interesting graphic effect, though. I have used it on some of my gallery photos...
  15. Thanks TeeJay. The thing in my hand is just a wooden ball with nails (made in India)...
  16. Made a new soft-leather-strap for my DSN Fiddy. This combo will be on my wrist today and the rest of the week... definitely Cheers, Volker
  17. Now see what you've done, Max, now I want one too . Seriously, beautiful watch...
  18. I didn't know that, fitmic, thanks for the info. I might go and see them, although it's a pain in the butt to go there, living 200 KM away and having to go to work next day. Strange, somehow I thought you were Swedish, being fond of Kent and using Max von Sydow as your avatar (it is him, isn't it?). But then I see your signature (Schwulah), and being German myself, I think I know what that means ... I might be wrong, though. Cheers, Volker
  19. Yeah, Kent is great... and so is Bo Kasper's Orkester... dom kommer altid att leva, dom kommer aldrig att d
  20. Yeah, Rolli seems to be safe, but phantom of the router seems to be floating in the waters off the coast of Nigeria/Benin. Maybe he has gone into pirating.... BTW. Admin suggested using an other browser (instead of IE7), I have tried Opera and Flock and both seem to work OK with Members Map, far better than IE7, as a matter of fact...
  21. Great feature... but I'm having trouble bulk-uploading my pictures. I get a " The image upload failed, please contact a system administrator "....
  22. Nice! Thanks a lot, admin. Mye takk....
  23. Just good night from rainy Denmark... Peace, Volker
  24. Prutzen futz geputzen, it's Adenoid Hynkel..... Here's an other funny chap...
  25. Yeah, me too. And you know what, seeing Orlando Bloom wearing a Fiddy in that "Elisabethtown"- thingy, actually made me buy one myself.
