  1. Ehhh... Now I need a reason to pull my case apart Isn't FGD looking into doing a run of Pre-V/A hands? Unless W has an old gasket that we can pull the measurements from?
  2. Thanks for the ideas guys! I'll look into all suggested Thankfully, I don't have to travel much; I'm sure my employer would like to have me travel a bit more, but it's not a requisite for me (I hate travelling for work). It would be nice to have something handy to take along when going to visit friends and relatives out of state however, and having a travel case would also be nice for bringing to GTGs when they happen. Plus, I'm sure having a case is much easier to explain to airport security than having a watch on the wrist and another on the ankle
  3. Hmmmm... Well, I guess it kind of depends; do you want a modern (16600) or vintage (1665) SD?
  4. Thurs is a 16520 day...
  5. Preacher, Can you post a pic of your MBW with the bezel removed? That should be enough to give you direction on this...
  6. Washer and click should be fairly interchangable, but when I picked up my assembly, it was complete. You may be able to find one all inclusive as well... Also... I'm not sure how things like the click will effect the feel of the bezel rotation if at all. I never tried mixing and matching, so can't say for sure.
  7. Can't comment on the V3, but I do have first hand experience with the V1. 1) The gen bezel does indeed have slightly different details over the rep. Shape of teeth (and precision), profile, finish, etc. 2) In order to fit the gen bezel, you need the entire bezel assembly to do it the easy way. This includes the retention ring, click, washer, etc. For good measure, I did a gen crystal and appropriate gasket as well... You can fit the gen bezel to the WM9 ring, but it will require some modification to get it to work. I should have taken some better comparison pics while I had both, but hind sight is always 20/20; I don't have any good pics on hand now that would provide a fair representation of the two (though I do have this macro of the gen bezel)
  8. Looks like the legit site for Perfect Clones based on the URL. Shouldn't have any concerns in that regard (Perfect Clones is a reputible seller). This appears to be the same watch By-Tor reviewed...
  9. 4 days worth of moving if you factor in his cigar collection!
  10. Hey gang, Just curious what most of you are using for watch cases when travelling? Looking for ideas to accomodate 1 or 2 watches; max size 44mm, though the majority of my pieces are 40mm - 42mm.... Preferrably with decent, understated style/design. Thoughts? Suggestions? Cheers, //ubi
  11. I agree... 656 would be nice to have as well. And so simple... Should be an easy one to knockout...
  12. Those rep end links look pretty good (albeit maybe a slight bit too long for the lugs; hard to tell from the pics). Methinks you got a decent set though! Definitely not a worry if it's worn on the rubber strap...
  13. Speaking of Sinn... I'm still hoping they make a 756 at some point or another (and expand the range of reps to cover more of the Sinn line up)...
  14. Ahhhh... That could be! It's the one W sent me when he gave me the case, and it was accompanied by a complete set of gaskets and Jimmy mineral. I wonder if Offshore can source the correct size gasket if measurements can be provided?
  15. I'd have to say that the end links are probably a bigger tell than the crown and He valve; rep end links are terrible, fit terrible, look terrible and with their crude finish on such an apparent part, they stand out pretty badly even on the wrist... (IMHO)
  16. As per Google: Definitions of apropos on the Web:
  17. I'd have to disagree... When it comes to the fine details, the gen bracelet is in a completely different league when it comes to quality. Engraving is a significant improvement on the gen... Gen Rep End links are no contest: Gen Rep Diver's extension; gen has better overall finish while the rep is rather crude: If details matter, then there is a difference.
  18. On a uPO... No. On a 42mm 4th generation... Yes
  19. Hmmmm... I am not entirely sure where my sapphire crystal originated, but it was a press in fit with decent height in my Jimmy case: If I recall correct, it was 2.9mm at the edge... So, it is very possible that the gasket is the key element...
  20. Happy birthday, R! Here's to many more... Cheers, R
  21. Back in the day, the WM9's were essentially the same thing as the TW Best reps. Quite a lot has changed since then
